My Throttle linkage on my 95 is really worn and is now being held together with plastic wire ties. The sockets on the ends of the rods are almost non existent. I have consistantly over the years made idle adjustments to make up the difference that the balls were losing, "material diameter" and now my my transmission w/400,000 miles is shifting eratically and coming out of t/c lockup. I just wonder if this is what I am experiencing because the the bell crank doesn,t rotate far enough to send the correct signal (5v) to the computer to make the nessesary command for t/c lockup. If I play with it on the road with the pedal I CAN get it to behave somewhat. But I have already spent the money on the TPS and R&R item to absolutely no diff in performance. I know this is alot of miles on a transmission but it works so damn well when it gets the right input, I have taken great care with it and think I can get more out if I can pin it down and stop wasting my money and time.

There was a TSB on the throttle linkage on our 95's. Before I knew this I got new balls ends and a new linkage rod. There were alot of different versions and revised part#s as I remember. Ask your Dodge dealer to see if the update has been done to your truck, which includes a new throttle cable, updated linkage and udpated belcrank arm. My dealer said they would still do this for free, but since I just replaced the linkage I figure I would wait. Is your TV cable adjusted correctly?

Check here to see if the safety recall has been done on your truck: http://www.dodge.com/webselfservice...recall&country=us&emailUrl=goToEmailForm('R')

If not, the fix is free.

Linkage adjustment is how the TPS is adjusted according to the service manual. It really does not work well. You can install a pot on the ground wire and adjust it correctly or elminate the TPS.

Read this thread for a long discussion about ways to deal with a problem like this: https://www.turbodieselregister.com...mission-1994-1998/156901-tps-myth-buster.html

Yes thanks for the link Joe, I ofund that I have some that need attn. And I will a make sure my tv cable is adjusted properly. And I'm quite sure that I will get another 150k out of this transmission as it is obviously one of the better ones chrysler corp made.
