My lower ball joints have 4 numbers on them 4 and 3 and 1 and 0 . How do I line these up with the axle tube and or knuckle. Which degree works best with our trucks? Thanks for any help in this matter.
They must be adjustable ball joints - the factory are fixed. Perhaps put on allow camber adjustment while trying to solve some front end complaint- don't know.
To set them up, you would need to put it on an alignment rack. There may be a TSB from DC describing why they are used, and what settings to apply. dodgeram.org has a listing of all the TSBs.
If you aren't having any steering problems I'd leave them alone.
One final question - the lower control arms have numbers that are used to set the caster. Perhaps these are what you are referring to.
The ball joints I am putting in are just regular moog items. I am sure they are not adjustable. I've called alignment shops and they don't seem to know anything about what I'm talking about as well. So I guess I will just line them up the same for both sides and hope for the best. What's the worst that could happen?
