Hello All and thanks for all the great tips. I have been trolling the boards for some time now. Here is the deal: I own a 2006 quad cab auto transmission with 125000 miles. It is bone stock.
Since I bought it in December of 2013 I have been going through the known maintenance issues in hopes of having a rock solid ride. So the time for ball joints and wheel bearings had come. I purchased the needed parts and although I did not purchase Carlis I bought high quality BJs and SKF bearings.. Got the install done abs light comes on during first test drive.
OK i say to myself I can handle this! I come home from work today and in my stupid thinking I disconnect the battery hoping the ABS light goes out.. WRONG, the CEL came on and stays on.. Truck had trouble starting and stumbles while driving. After a while it ran better. Took it to a shop had it scanned with a fairly new Snap On scanner and it says bad right wheel ABS sensor. He used an OHM tester and verified it open. He reset code 2059 ECM and said it is because I disconnected the batteries. Less than a mile after leaving his shop CEL comes back on UGH!!! I have GOT to have this vehicle over the weekend I am moving a relative from out of state. It seems I have two problems. ABS sensor light and ECM code and CEL light HELP PLEASE!!!!

My options are take the old ABS sensors and install in the new bearing, or remove entire bearing and return to the retailer where i bought it. But what about the CEL I am most worried about that!!!

Thanks so much in advance!!!

As long as it runs fine, an engine light that you know is just a broken abs sensor is no big deal. Do what you need to do and fix it at your next convenience.

Disconnect the faulty Sensor, the ABS will go into limp mode and you can drive normally.

Fix it after your Journey.

It did this many times because my ABS had also Problems, told me the Sensor is bad but is was the ABS Computer itself that was faulty, at soldering inside was a bad connection.

Thank you

I will not worry about the ABS Sensor.. I am still very concerned about the CEL light.. It says its a P2059 ECM Will this code take care of itself when the ABS is repaired?

Thank you all for your assistance

There is no P2059 code. Could it be 2509?

P2509-POWERDOWN DATA LOST ERROR

SET CONDITION
Loss of voltage detected at the ECM for a calibrated amount of time.

POSSIBLE CAUSES

Poor connections at the batteries
Low battery voltage
Open fused B+ to ECM
Open ground circuit
Battery + shorted to other circuits
Return circuit shorted
Battery + shorted to ground
Intermittent condition

Hello and thanks very much for the prompt replies. I have learned so much about my truck from this and other forums, I owe you a great debt of gratitude.

I am happy to report that after a re-tightening of the drivers side battery cables, and an auto parts store scan tool to clear the codes all is well!!!!!! I also replaced a defective ABS wheel sensor and the truck is a good (maybe better) than new!!!

Thank you all and God Bless

John
