Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Bang, clunk, rattle it's dead

Finally the flex plate went out on the way home playing around with a maxi pad. She held in there long enough to finish him off but she let me know it was time to stop. Pulled the cover off and metal fell out all over but no sight of trans fluid from pump seal. Who has a killer flex plate out?
