Upgrading the 48RE!

Bully Dog 6" Exhaust?

I recently bought a Banks High Ram intake, NIB, ( from another member ) but considered used. All I wanted to do was verify that it would fit my truck. I took a chance on it being the right one for my truck. I got it at a good enough deal that if it wasn't the right one for my truck, I could re-sell it and re-coup my $$. So, I get on Banks web site and try looking up the part number. Cant do that, as they dont post the part numbers of there products on line, at least for what I am looking for... . anyways... .

On there web site give a few different telephone numbers that you can call and I called the one that is supposed to help people like me, with just information. So, I call, get put on hold after talking to someone for maybe 10 seconds..... after 10 minutes on hold, I hang up as its obvious they are not going to pick back up.

So, I call back, and talk again for maybe 10 seconds to the same person and once again, puts me on hold... ... for another 10 minutes. Now by this time my blood pressure is going up.

So, I call back for the THIRD time, explain that I dont want to talk to the same person, as all his job must be is to put people on hold... . so she ( the secretary ) redirects me to put me on hold for my last time. I waited maybe 5 minutes this time as my patience wore out. I think that for future purchases, I will take any and all my $$ somewhere else.

Now I am not up to slamming businesses like this but this has got to be the POOREST CUSTOMER SERVICE of anyone that I have been treated by..... by any of the people out there that I have bought products of or through. Its hard to believe that people like this can even stay in business.

Oh, By the way, if there are any members out there that could confirm that this intake will fit my truck, the part number on the box is 42720, and the casting number on the intake is 42740.

Maybe it would just be easier to install it except now i need o-rings and gaskets for it, but will obviously have to make my own as BANKS sure as hell wont sell me any.

Rant off

I guess they found out you did not want to buy anything from them so they stick you on hold and hope you will hang up and go away. Its a shame that there are places like this but it happens.

I just get jacked when I get treated like that. If there was a reason for the delay or excuse, I would have accepted that and called at another time, but, was not the case.

Thanks Bob for the info.

Not to defend Banks or anything but businesses sometimes have hectic days (most everyone does). Maybe they were short staffed and they were slammed. I know Banks has a spotty customer service reputation, but something to consider. I don't blame ya for getting irritated, I get really irritated when put on hold repeatedly or for a long time.

You could try calling a vendor that sells Banks products. I went to Scheids for some Banks info. They had detailed catalogs with diagrams, drawings, part numbers of all the Banks stuff they sell. For individual parts from their kits, they had to call Banks for price quotes, sure didn't that many calls or time for them to get prices for me.

I've gotten fairly propt service x2 calling tech support about specific questions. Three other times I got a very similar run around & long time holds.

I called Tech support to ask about an up grade or reflash to a 4 years old Otto mind box and some smoke issues. The tech guy was clueless and no help at all.

I did find the answers to my questions on the TDR. It's called TST products.
