Banks Monster Dual Exhaust

Doc, I spoke with Gale Banks Engineering last week, they said that the specs and pricing for the new monster dual exhaust would be released in early-July. The muffler for this new system supposedly addresses the dreaded 2,200 RPM drone that other systems have. Have an '05 on the way from Saltillo, so I got onto their mailing list to ensure that I am notified accordingly. My alternate choice for the '05 rig would be a dual exhaust system from ATS (of course).

BTW, I have an MBRP "cool duals" system on my '01 . . . its "OK", but the fit and the tubing bends are not nearly as good as the Banks monster single exhaust that it replaced on this rig (it sounds sweeeeeeet, though!)

I sure hope it's an easy conversion from a single. I was in a truck with a dual MBRP system, and it sounded sweet! I want duals on my truck!

The banks dual system looks like a nice piece, but I'm concerned about drone. Anybody have any experience with the single outlet (i. e. , cat-back) Banks exhaust on the '04. 5 and up CTD?

BTW, before you get too excited, the Banks dual is the same system as the single (i. e. , a single muffler), but has a "wye" outlet the maintains the spare tire carrier.

I know. Just like the rest of them. But it sure does sound good when you can hear the motor on both sides.

Plus as an added benefit, you can smoke out the guy behind you, not just the ones on the right :D
