was there that much hp loss with the manifold, ohh wait you don't have facts just more bs to add. I thought the tdr members were better than that,I guess I was wrong.

So I guess it would be the 80%ers who bought chrome air cleaners and finned aluminum valve covers for their hot rods in the 70's. Not much HP from that stuff but it sure made you feel good about your ride when you opened the hood.

If it doesn't add any go power then it falls right in there with the rest of the fancy powder coated stuff we are seeing on the Cummins along with poser 5" exhaust tips these days. Thats not a bad thing cuz it just shows some pizazz. Now if it decreases power thats another story.

About BANKS AND WARRANTY. Back in 2001 had a truck towed in(dead) had a bad VP44 pump. Also had Banks what not. Turbo housing, otto mind,HIGH RAM intake, exhaust etc. D. C. declained warranty. Bunch of fussing back and forth. BANKS said has NOTHING to do with our products etc. Finally Banks said we don't understand,we do some JOINT testing with D. C. and their is some interaction between us. BANKS sent a NEW VP44 pump and a NEW transfer pump, said send US the old ones and WE"LL handle this from our end with D. C. Of course I don't know the outcome of their end but the customer was PLEASED to say the lest. By the way when we test drove that truck it HONKED. We had installed LOTS of Banks stage 3 kits on 12 valves and this truck put them to shame. It ran REAL strong. It had 4 or 5 test drives by differant personal!:D P. S Gale Banks WAS involved in this issue. We were impressed!

Matt, I think you missed the point... we are talking about parts that claim to do one thing and really do another. Chrome and shiney stuff is usually just that (chrome and shiney). :)

Not really, I too am interested if it adds any power but you can't overlook the fact that it obviously was designed as a show piece also. I bet they will sell many on the look alone.

If it doesn't increase power it would be better to market it as a dress-up piece.

Personally I think a round chrome pipe would look better but like you said that's another thread.

Color,...how 'bout polished?

They will sell you one unpainted. I saw one that the guy had his polished and it looks like chrome,. . almost. Cool!!

actually ,I want no ******* match. I would like you to post the answers to the question asked not a bunch of bs. how much hp does the highram loose?not what your opinion on banks products. if that is a pissin match I am sorry but I just want to stay on topic and not the topic of banks products in your opinion. just the power of the highram, thats the only question asked, and it still has not been answered.

Same here! I will CALL Banks Monday morning or noon which is early morning then. I'll see what DATA they have on it and ask about the opinion of it actually producing less horsepower etc. Will post what they have to say etc.

This has been out for sometime and it looks like a small loss based on real world results. A search will provide you with a number of posts on this mod. I dont believe any manufacturers or vendors claims unless I can see it in the real world on someones truck actually working. This would include not just Banks but any vendor. This is just one of many items that dont produce results. There are plenty of others that are not made by Banks and no matter what name is on the box such items are going to get called out on a forum such as this. Yes there are many people out there riding the ragged edge and folks are making parts for them. These people can expect the possibility of throwing codes, breaking parts, etc. and most of em know what they are getting into and are willing to take those chances. On the other hand a person can carefully research his purchases and get himself a lot of reliable power. No codes, no problems.

Looks Great!

I have Banks High Air Ram on my 2nd Gen truck Painted it black to match my paint and valve cover. Looks great! No difference in power as far as I can tell. It gets an A+ in my book for the "look" factor.

On a gasser when you add a single plane intake an otherwise stock engine it looses power. Add a cam heads carb then it really shines. As far as the Banks box goes, well it never left me on the side of the road in 10500 miles. The tst box left me on the side after about 100 miles. Yes the tst did make more power but not for long. Hopefully I get this box to work. It has the potential to kick some serious ass!Btw in about 2 weeks banks is suppose to have an update for more power!!!

Ok. sorry to take so long to post back. Talked to the Banks salesman I've dealt with before at BANKS. The HIGH RAM is not design to be a STAND ALONE improvement. It increases air flow! On the 2000 to 2002 Cummin the ONLY difference between the Stinger Plus Kit and the Power Pack is the High Ram. The singer Plus is a 109 h. p. and 259 foot lbs of torque increase over stock and the Power Pack is 145 h. p. and 288 foot lbs torque increase. Its design is to allow MORE fueling with out a EGT increase. He said it will allow more fuel whether it be a box or injector size etc. to be used and keep EGT's in a safe range. He did NOT have handy the spec on the 03 etc. but said the HIGH RAM for the newer trucks is somewhat improved over the one used in the 1998 to 2002 models. It sells for $309. 00 from BANKS direct. He also said it makes the SIX GUN or any other box or fuel modon make MORE h. p. without a unsafe EGT factor. But on stock engins etc. don't expect to see any improvement. MORE FUEL,MORE AIR,MORE POWER and safer EGT's.

As I mentioned above, I purchased mine for the looks. I was told by the dealer I purchased it from, that usually the High Air Ram is sold as part of a package, but that they would sell it as a single item also. No performance gains were claimed or expected. It was a cast grey color and I painted it black to match by new valve cover. Here are the results. Tell me what you think.
