Scott W. thanks for the reply. I am checking into EDGE products. Even the rep at Bosch gave them a thumbs up.
HVAC--I have a FP gauge installed. One at the Inj. pump side of the stock fuel filter (22psi @ idle-16 psi WOT). Also have installed the Carter Lift Pump. All this was done prior to any VP44 problems. The symptoms are thus: hard start during hot weather after long drives or when towing--the truck stops running at idle while stopped (in gear) after a long drive. The only thing is ---this does not happen all the time!! I am not blaming the mods for the pump failure--it just keeps coming up at every conversation with the DC techs and the Bosch techs. All I want is reliability. I can stand up to the plate & be responsible for the mods I installed. I just have a hard time believing sooo many different theories. AND all the warranties that seem to disappear when a problem occurs.
The fun part is that I get involved with different mods,& people at TDR are very helpful with some very innovative ideas. That is the thing I like most about these forums. The hard part is to weed out the good from the un-informed. Everyone has their opinion about how things work or should work & the beauty of it is that with all of this R&D good things come of it.
