Scott W. thanks for the reply. I am checking into EDGE products. Even the rep at Bosch gave them a thumbs up.

HVAC--I have a FP gauge installed. One at the Inj. pump side of the stock fuel filter (22psi @ idle-16 psi WOT). Also have installed the Carter Lift Pump. All this was done prior to any VP44 problems. The symptoms are thus: hard start during hot weather after long drives or when towing--the truck stops running at idle while stopped (in gear) after a long drive. The only thing is ---this does not happen all the time!! I am not blaming the mods for the pump failure--it just keeps coming up at every conversation with the DC techs and the Bosch techs. All I want is reliability. I can stand up to the plate & be responsible for the mods I installed. I just have a hard time believing sooo many different theories. AND all the warranties that seem to disappear when a problem occurs.

The fun part is that I get involved with different mods,& people at TDR are very helpful with some very innovative ideas. That is the thing I like most about these forums. The hard part is to weed out the good from the un-informed. Everyone has their opinion about how things work or should work & the beauty of it is that with all of this R&D good things come of it.

I just wanted to post a follow up stating that Peter at Banks Engineering has been extremely helpful at getting the issues with my PowerPack equipped truck resolved. He had several suggestions and is putting us in touch with one of their techs to walk us through a variety of diagnostic checks. Its nice to see personalized service from such a large company, and proof again that the TDR works!

Have you ever checked into bully dog's stuff. They can really do some amazing stuff with a dodge.

Bully Dog's Dodge Crank It Up has 560 + hp and only Bully Dog products on it.

They make a very solid chip that is reliable and comes with full customer service.

oops

bullydog does have some good customer service, they take care of their stuff good

looks like the profile might get bombed pretty soon too:D

From your profile - "Klassen @ Bullydog"

Sure am, and if you ever need any info about bully dog feel free to ask.

You can always e-mail me at brettgarner@mail. boisestate. edu

I am talking as a concerned diesel owner and not just advertising, but of course you may decern that I may be a little bias about some products on the market. :D

Hey Brett, what do I have to do to get a free T-shirt ;) . I was one of the first to take the plunge with the step 5 injectors on this site ( love 'em by the way).

Just kidding, well maybe. I started off with step 3's and went with the 5's when they first hit the market. Wouldn't trade them unless I was towing real heavy. I pulled over 10,000 lbs. this past summer and they really showed their guts then  .

To tell you guys the truth I don't even have a shirt.

But, hell I wouldn't mind having a t-shirt either. If you guys could send me a private message with some info I'll see what I can do.

That's affirmative big guy. The 12R is for street sweeping, the KTM is for trail/ice racing. Even bought a used "mini-me KTM for my oldest daughter, which she is loving. I had been away from my childhood sport for too long, finally got back in and having a blast !!! When you get the time, send me a PM with your shop number. My computer took a crap awhile ago and I lost your number.

Go with a package with gauges, aFe intake, 4" exhaust and Edge EZ. That should give plenty of power to play and keep good towing ability.

Banks does off very nice kits as well and they may be more expensive, but you get more parts in the kits as well.

I have the banks power pak system on my 2001 3500 4x4. It does give you power over the stock jset up and it is noticable. I had my kit installed at 11,000 miles. I now have 28,000 on the rig with no problems. Have not had any bad experiences with banks customer service dept. I,v been told by others that if i wanted to add ddII's that I would have to dump the ottomind and run an edge box. The reason for this, the ddII's will increase egt,s the ottomind will defuel and reduce power to lower the egt,s. A good safety measure, but it dedeats the purpose of speading the money on the ddII's. Buy gauges and contol the temps with your foot. Good luck

Herman, read your post about loseing your transmission. I think I am haveing the same trouble. Did it shake the whole truck when it started going out? Mine feels just like a worn out ignition coil in the old gassers, very obvious "miss" under heavy acceleration. I love the performance of the Banks, but like you said. Dodge auto is the weekest link.

I was under the impression, that with the 3 degree slip protection, that the speedloader offers I would never feel the transmission slip. Thanks for any info. on this.

Have the Banks on my 01 Absolutely love it. It comes with gauges, exhaust, etc. What I like about the Banks is that it is a complete package. I`m not smart enough to put a lot of different manufacturers together. Yah it is more money but I did the install all myself and I saved the headache of piecing it together.

Need to do a package for my 4. 5 as well and will probably do Banks again.

Banks Power Pack Ottomind

Has anyone with a 2001 & Ottomind had any problems with their top speed? I can only go 88mph with mine. I put the PowerPack on 1 month ago at 113,000 miles and now my top speed is limited. EGT's and fuel pressure are all in check but the engine shuts down at 88mph and I can press on the pedal all I want but nomo go fast!

I believe that I have hit 90 in mine with no problems. I have the Stinger with the Ottomind.

Motofreak-have you tried any faster than that? My particular case as I am aware of I have a 2001 model truck with a CTD built in early 2000. I am still trying to solve the problem. I have sent the Ottomind back to Banks once to be reprogrammed but that didn't work. They are supposed to be sending me a . 4 ohm resistor to be put inline with the yellow tap wire to the fuel pump. I sure hope this fixes it. I hate having spent so much money to increase the performance of my truck and now I have a limitation on the performance. I'll wait to see what happens, hopefully it will be made right.
