Has any one had any problem with the transmission shifting weird when you are towing after you installed the Edge?

I towed 8k from MT to AK and it worked flawlessly. Tow/haul mode worked like it was supposed to. The transmission is holding up fine at 13K mi.

well my mom has had banks on her dodge for a while now i forget how long exactly and she pulls a 6 horse trailer w/ it been very good tho again this is hardware only since its a 12v no problems w/ it plenty of power pretty much what they said is what we got like i said no problems so we havent had to deal w/ customer service tho before and during installation they where very helpful and told her where temps should be pretty mucha ll the ins and outs so i would say very good company tho a little pricy and flashy for me when i get a dodge im gonna want more power then banks makes and i want it cheap as possible but for the most part go for it another thing is i belive there is some warrenty that you are paying for also which attributes to some of the pricyness

About a month ago, Banks had a booth at an offroad expo in Pomona, CA. I spoke with one of their in-house sales people. He gave me his card, and said to contact him with any questions I had. Well, I had a bunch of questions that I later thought about, and so I e-mailed him about a week after the show. No reply. Two weeks later (last week), I resent it to him. Still, no answer.

If Banks can't get back to me on some easy pre-sale questions, you can bet that I'm not going to trust them with any problems that come up after the sale. Good-bye Banks, hello someone else. I guess they don't like informed customers.

They are probably all at the SEMA show right now.

Tows great with edge on lev. 1. The temps dont really get too high unless you lug it in O/D.

My buddy has a 92' ford f-350 idi with the banks turbo kit. Had over 200,000 miles on the turbo and it still works like it did 200,000 miles ago, just a minor oil leak. So I agree that their mechanical stuff is great but their computers are overpriced and underpowered.

But he answered his phone at his desk. Even still what has he been doing for the last month? Half the department where I work in is at SEMA this week as well, but they did their jobs for the previous month, and have people who are still here covering for them while they're out. INMHO Banks has no excuse... or perhaps excuses is all they have. I was genuinely considering their product, but I don't think the company has its act together. Is it because of just one guy? Well, he is their representative...

I will answer All Banks Questions. Banks Six-Gun tuner are not RACE performance,The Six-Gun Tuner are the safest Tuner Available with modest HP gain. The PDA will be shipping Soon this Will make the Six-Gun more operator friendly. HP is only related to cost, the more money you spend the more HP you can have,If you think the ISBe is indestructible you are mistaken it has limits.

Will the PDA be backward compatible with those who've already purchased their Six-gun modules?

And... how many units have you sold on 3rd gens? Of those, how many have had injector problems?

Thx, Mark

Previous Tuners will need to be flashed and will require a docking station. Without checking over 60. One customer had one injector replace under warranty unknown cause. We have had 1 LB7 Tuner Go dead. The Six-Guns Have FEMA and defaulted to stock, We have had some 7. 3 Six-Gun digital displays issues (No Read outs) all were replaced under GBE warranty. . The early LLY Programs had loping issue again the New 05B program solved that problem. All under GBE replacement.

I had the banks six gun with the speed loader. Once i found out that it was a preassure box and that was bad i took it off. For the money you are way better off with a TST or an edge. I also agree that the pillar that you get with banks is junk. THe gauges were not that impressive either. I also have the banks high ram intake which looks cool but no noticeable power gains. SO all in all Banks was a mistake and i was not impressed with Gails finest. So i am doing it right and ordering a TST with a clutch install of course.

T. S. West how will the PDA make the 6-gun easier to use. I agree it is very cool, but I think the 6 position knob that came with mine was great. Much easier to change power on the fly than with the TST, I wish the tst had two knobs just like the 6-gun knob.

It will be infrared. If the Tuner Triggers a code it can be remove much easier. When the stock program also throws DTC it will display its function and can be remove also. Power levels can be changed by touching the screen. No longer will the speed loader be necessary. These are just a few of the features that are available, T&C will have them early next week. ( I hope De-fueling is a option available in the Cummins PDA)

Their is SO much distortion about the facts of the Six-Gun Tuners. Pressure is the safest way to add HP to C/R, To MUCH Pressure is when problems develop. I run on level 6 every Day My R/P has never been above 23. 500. The Six-Gun also does Timing,Again I hope that the PDA Tuners will Have all Three Pressure, timing, duration. GBE has share little info to us on the PDA Tuners. I am Not a expert on the E2,When they arrive I will get up to speed.

Banks Service

I have been running my 6-Gun w/ Spd loader since March 04. I also have there Monster Exhaust. I have had only minor problems with them. Mostly from the install crew. Any time I had questions they responded immediately to my concerns. They have overnited me a new box, and last week a new Speed Loader. No questions asked! The Tech guys even called after every episode to check up. I feel Banks is by far the largest company doing performance, but they are also doing gas powered upgrades. I will run there product again!

Glad to hear Banks is makeing some customers happy. This site definately is into bashing Banks. I've done it myself, though I have always stated that their product works just fine. I simply wanted more. I wish Banks would go ahead and develope a "no-holds-barred" fueling box. Anytime the aftermarket pushes each other we all benefit!!

T. S. West are you sure there is no way to stack the six-gun and TST?? I really want to!! Im just afraid both boxes adjusting timing will cause a problem.

I have used their stuff will good results. not the most power but I think its the most usable. yeah I can get big numbers with my tst cranked up but it will not stay there and live ;) . takes more air as well which means new turbo and other improvements. so would I bash banks for not making the power I can , no. I will remember the fact is climbing a hill I bet I get off the throttle with heavy load ,and then I did not. Oo. to each his own.

No way on the Six-Gun TST. EZ on Level 1 or 2 with TST, This will put Rail around 24. 000 to 25. 000 Max this is still within the limits of the rail,I would run this combo, With Turbo, trans or clutch, and fuel system upgrade. Mark Must Have promise someone not to make a Pressure Box, I certainly know TST is capable of this combination.

That is funny T-West (about TST making a deal not to make pressure boxes)because in talking with TST it is very obvious that they DO NOT recommend pressure, so maybe your right. TST says you just run the rail pressure down faster and don't gain any more power. Seems like alot of guys see a jump in power when adding some pressure with the TST though. Sorry this is off topic guys!

The same principle for adding Hp by Pressure has been the same for decades,CR is just much more pressure, the fuel systems is subject to damage because of the incredible amounts of it,Injectors,Pump, lines, etc. The secret lies in all three Pressure,Timing,Duration, engine makers spend millions on software, the Days of changing Buttons are long gone. Most of the aftermarket performance company's have master all Three for the 6. 0,Duramax, not so with the cummins. Pressure and duration seems to be the most difficult maybe because they are so closely related.

I can't comment on the 6 gun, but I have had numerous dealings with Banks customer service, and had not 1 problem with them, however that was 21 years ago. I had installed a sidewinder turbo on my 1984 6. 2L 3/4T Suburban, after 212,000 miles I finally bought a Cummins and haven't looked back since.

Any info on the good/bad of the Banks intercoolers? Banks has an intercooler called the Technicooler, it claims to flow alot better than the Cummins stocker. Are there any members out there that have installed a Banks intercooler in a 24v or an HPCR?

Talk to driverno8. He hates Banks with a passion and still runs their intercooler.
