Well I just ordered the Banks Ram Air Kit. It should be here in a couple of days! :-laf I was wondering if anyone else has the kit and likes it? I will be modding the truck slowly. The next thing to be modded is the FASS system. But for now, I am looking forward to the Banks kit. Once I get it I will get some pictures and put them online!

I got one with my Six Gun bundle kit. I've had it about a year and a half now with no complaints so far. It definitely helped my truck breathe a lot better.

Piece of cake to install. Make sure the sleeve of the air tubes seat well over the turbo before tightening it down - pointless to have a filter if there's a hole after the filter :)

I grab the plastic tube and rotate it a bit on the housing and feel for pieces of the plastic lip that could have folded over when pressing it onto the turbo.

No codes to date, it's been in there for 2 years, cleaned filter element out twice. Noticeable throttle response and a little louder turbo. Still no dust in the pipe. Definitely a good buy.

The Banks filters have similar construction to the K&N filters in that they both use oil impregnated gauze as the filter medium. The difference is that the Banks filter uses 8 ply gauze where K&N uses 3 ply gauze. Whether the Banks filters are actually manufactured by K&N, I don't know. Though I have been told that you can use the K&N cleaning / recharge kits with the Banks filters.

So I got the Banks Ram Air kit yesterday and Installed. I got a few pictures, but I forgot to get the final installed picture. I was so excited when I finished I went for a drive. I was getting about 32 psi on the boot gauge. Now I can get 35 psi easy. I am so happy!

Make sure you use never seize on the 4 cover bolts, they will corrode and seize up, I had to repair one that spun the retaining nut. The bolts are stainless and the retainers are aluminum.

How good is the filter included in this kit. I want the best protection for my motor, but also good performance ? Are they comparible to say AFE's Pro Guard 7 ? Better/worse
