Has anyone gotten one of these from Napa? I saw a report of one from OTC in a search I just did. . Anyone else find one? I hate to have to order one from elsewhere when they might be able to get it.

Just in case though, through up manufacturers and P/N's please

Thanks

Yeah... but that means I have to drive the 60 mile round trip to the dealer that says "We don't really ever deal with 5. 9's. . we're a BIG TRUCK dealership". . you get the picture... they won't be getting my money.

The Snap-On Part number is YA9565A. Took my Snap-On guy a week to find it. He priced it to me around $50.

Joe Exactly. .

Pratt THANK YOU. . napa's service tools are all KD and we looked yesterday and couldn't find it.

Thanks everyone else too.

I'm getting the SPX/OTC (miller) piece from napa... They also have the Timing kit and injector remove tools. . amongst other things for the cummins. . I'll be getting a timing kit when my tax return comes in.

$58 to me... . local guys mark up slightly... I'm fine with that... i'll have it a LONG time.

OTC timing kit... which I though was congruent with miller... They priced at $389?!?! WTF?!?! I've seen them countless numbers of times for $215 or so...

I checked the catalogue number and sure enough... they priced the right part number. . Sounds like someone at OTC thought it was the MASTER kit... or they are seriously full of it one. . I couldn't believe that. .

3-5 working days to get my barring tool. . Either way my radiator is coming out to be fixed, the KDP tabbed and valves adjusted before christmas. . Should be fun.

Thank you guys.

I just got my bar tool from Cummin's they had it in stock and for 36 FRNs it was mine (I35 in FTW).

Is anybody selling a kit for the 12V engines that has all the special tools required, specifficlay timing setup?

I am putting my truck down to verify the KDP is done (seller said it was done, I'm leary) and fix the leaky cover, retro fit the fuel filter assy, change fuel lines, heater hose, fuel strainer/pump hose, valve adjustment, and pump the timing up to 17°.

I don't bendover for anybody, not even SnapOn.

Got mine at Cummins (140 mi r/t) for about $25. Remember the 5. 9 is in a lot of medium duty trucks too. Barring tool fits B-series (ours) and C-series older big trucks.

ALL of the companies in this post sell a timing kit. . It generally has the barring tool in it, it has the socket, dial and other specialty tools needed to reset the timing. Only thing I didn't see in the SPX/OTC kit was the gear puller to remove the gear from the pump. And it was outrageously high

As far as I am concerned the barring tool is a waste of money, I use a crank bolt for one way and a wrench on the fan clutch nut for the other direction. This is a lot faster than the barring tool and a lot easier to use. The complete kit is available from Snap On, it may be costly but works great.
