2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Battery testing

I am looking for information on load testing our batteries. I would like to find out if a load test can give me a comparison to the new performance. Will a load tester give more than pass/fail? or tell me that the battery is within a specific amount of amperage compared to a new one? What type of load tester is preferred?
