I would like to give a huge shout out and thanks to the fine folks at PONCI'S DIESEL CENTER in Fortuna, CA. Talk about professional curtious service this place has got it going on. I was out of there in half the time I though it would have taken, and everything turned out perfectly, fits like a glove and looks great. I do a lot of fab work but I really impressed with Brads ability to look at or measure just once and the pieces fitting together perfectly not me I am usually measuring and cutting several times and still use a lot of filler wire. I couldn't be more happy with the outcome. No more catching the bell housing blanket on fire for me especially since the bell housing is coming back another 3/4" this weekend to make way for the Iron Giant III.

Thats just awesome in SOOOOO many ways...

The obvious reason it that Black exhaust pipes make more HP, Duh!!!!! :D

I will be looking forward to IRP and seeing that rig in person with the new stack

No remote oil filter kit yet?

I just ordered mine from Piers, got tired of un clamping stuff to change it...

Looks good though, really dig the black.

Are those wates regulator valves in the cold pipe? If so, what psi do they pop?

My guess is bungs for water injection or data logger!

Ryan: correct, just flip the manifold. The larger turbo is the Big Brother (BB) and the smaller one is the Pro52 I didn't change turbos just reconfigured. I can jump up and down on that larger turbo Brad did an excellent job of making sure it was supported from underneath you can see the tab under the hot pipe in the picture below bolted to it is a piece of 3/8" flat bar that bolts to one of the holes were the AC compressor used to be.

Eric, Vegas? are you coming to keep Gene out of trouple? :D

Justin, yeah I see an oil filter relocation kit in my future real soon especially has much as I change oil.

Jim, correct since we were making the cold pipe we decided why not add room for growth. those are just the bungs welded in place and pluged. Thinking pressure, temp, and two water. if you look close enough you will see we drilled the exhaust manifold for the 6 egt probes as well while we were in there. the Corsa Data, Inteli Dash, and EZ Logger showed up last week thanks to Kent at Schieds for building the set up :D

...

Scott that silencer ring in your primary should add another 20 horse u know :-laf . . is that Brad's leg i see in the first pic as he "works" beneath you to guide the hole :p :-laf :-laf Great Looking work man, 1st class craftsmanship for sure!

BBD- Thanks for the info! I looked at my Manifold (HTT 3-piece) and my HTT SP66 and flipped the manifold and it the turbo (intake housing) touches the manifold... what would most people do in that case? make a spacer? I bet 1/8" would make it clear no problem! Can't wait to see what you do for your intake filter setup! I was looking at mine again last night and I am almost 100% sure I can move the large turbo back towards the center of the wheel well to make room for my filter in the engine bay. Also, if I were to make a bracket like yours to support it I figure I could attach it right to my 24valve motor mount..... that should work right? the mount is already pre-tapped and I am not using those holes for anything!

Thanks for the help... Ryan

yes you need a spacer---1/4" or bigger--I'm running a 5/8" spacer thanks to Ron A---

as long as the mount is attached to the motor you are ok--attached to the frame or body = bad idea---chris

Now that was a fast reply!!! Thanks for the Info Chris!

i try to help when i can---plus you may want to fab it now instead of waiting for BBD to answer after he gets off work this afternoon and then start on it--chris

I run a 1/2" spacer on mine. Keep this in mind though, when you run a spacer you basically have air coming from two ports to one and back to two. When it goes back the charger it will erode the flange between the chambers at the leading edge. I've seen this on both my 40 and the SPS but there are no chunks missing and the wheel is perfect. It might have something to do with my 80 psi of boost and 1800 degrees of EGT... ... FYI!

Jim

Not sure what you are refering to Jim- Do you mean that the spacer its self is eroding? when you make the spacer would it not have the exact mating profile as the charger and the manifold? If it is a nice smoth transition I can not see how this eroding would happen unless there was a little edge that the air flow got "cought" on and started to swirl but then you would think that just the manifold/charger setup would do the same sort of thing would you not?

Wouldn't beveling the divider cause less erosion and less turbulence?

Less turbulence yes, erosion... . nope been there done that. If you make a spacer for a wastegate it shouldn't erode the housing, at least my old setup didn't. I'll do the external gate on this setup this summer also.

Jim

I'm sure you're all aware that in some venues it's required that the exhaust exit behind the cab. Just something to think about before everyone drills holes in their hood!

Yeah, I was thinking about that... not really a concern for my self but I am making provisions in my system that will allow me to run my exaust also down under the cab in the stock location if I want.

Jim is right about the erosion---

on my old set up the spacer flange had no center divider and the my center divider in the exhaust housing is eroded and cracked badly---as is the ATS manifold.....

my new spacer has the divider----

so Ryan I would mimic the profile of the exhaust manifold----chris

Scott, I seriously cringed when I saw that first pic! But, it does look good though! Will this limit you in any of the pulls you use to run in do to the exhaust placement? Also, noticed the rear RA bumper missing, where did it go?

Hope to make it to IRP this year and finally shake your hand!

Lastly, dont for get us boys over at PS.com, you know we all drool over your truck!!!

Scott the stack turned out great. It was a pleasure to work on your beast. That was sure a fun time. Late night, but fun. Cant wait to see it in action. Let the smoke roll !!!!!!!!!!!!!
