I think about to replace my injectors precautionary, they are 130000M old and I dont know about the past, injector rattle is present especially uphill with 3/4 load.
So i think it would be best to change them and dont get stranded out in nowhere.

New Stock Bosch would also be a choice, even cheaper, but best???

Brian, i'd like to here your opinion also.

Thanks in advance.

I'd go with the BBI's. As I understand it, they are all new Bosch components with the exception of the tips, which have been modified to Marco's specs using the same process as stock Bosch tips. Maybe Brian will chime in and confirm, but I just read it again and it is my interpretation.

Ozy, let us know what you do. I have been contemplating this change also, but my F1's have only 34/35k use, so my $ not really burning a hole just yet...I guess I could pedal the F1's, but would have to get them re-certified first.

I am about to pull the trigger on some Stage 1's, either today or tomorrow.

They will add a bit of power, but it seems you have some trans mods and should be fine, but adding fuel is a mod and you should monitor the motor more. It's hard to say how much 24% extra fuel will do to EGT's, etc.

I haven't seen a dyno with a stock motor and Stage 1's, but I would like to.

Dunno, might need a little more.

If you are comfortable with how it runs with stock tuning as far as EGTs then stage 1s should do well.

Maybe we should try and setup a group buy....no tax...

Gentlemen, I will mention that it is more than just the tips that are different from a standard Bosch Common Rail Injector. A lot of engineering goes into the BBi line. These nozzles are unique as well as the rest of the injector.

Brian,

I have looked and haven't seen if they come with a warranty. Do they?

I think I will be ordering mine tomorrow.

Brian I asked about if the BBi will work fine without any Tuner?

I know about the that your injectors are a fine piece of workmanship and that is why I do think about to use them instead of just new OEMs, I'm happy with the power the stock truck has but I want the best for it.

Thank you

Yes Sir! The BBi 1's will work great without a tuner. Boost fooling is needed on our 06 but no tuning. In FACT we had dyno'ed and played with our 06 truck with no tuning and also have a new project, which we will dyno and play with that is totally box stock and will install the BBi's and NO tuning.

Here, let me link you to our 06 with no tuning so you can view the dyno graph! #ad

Also, let me provide other dyno graphs! http://smartyresource.com/bbi-injectors-04-07-stg1.aspx
This shows a wide range of tuning options and trucks in various states of supporting mods. (Not shown is the UDC tuning graph where a Gentleman desired power near 300 rwhp and tuned down to meet his desired goal.)

These examples show that there is a lot one can do with these Injectors. These are Not only for the power mongers. Even those who want little more power than stock, but demand the best quality available, can easily have what they want with these stage 1's.

can you tell me more about the boost fooler and for what it is,good, for and needed.
I installed a new actuator just a couple of month ago because the old was broken.
now I have fine boost of arround 30 Psi.

The boost fooler keeps the wastegate closed, so you build more boost. You also built more drive pressure above 30 psi of boost as the WG is always closed.

My .02 is I would try the Stage 1's with a boost fooler and see how it goes, which should be great.

What kind of elevation are you at? Do you tow heavy?

Hi

wouldn't it work without the boost fooler? For me the truck has far enough power, I want the bbi just because I think they are reliable.
more boost means more heat and I don't want to give more stress to the engine.

I do not tow with the truck, it has a small but heavy camper on his back and is used for traveling only. Permanent weight ist empty 10000Lbs and fully loaded 11000Lbs.
Truck is used in continental Europe most of time, around 1000f + Elevation.

At full power the boost fooler will actually make it run cooler, but with your gauge setup you can try without and see how it runs.

I'd suggest just plugging these in & running them in your MY 04.5. We haven't seen the model year 2004.5 in particular, throw an over boost code with Stg. 1's and putting the truck into limp mode. Our 2006 test truck under WOT conditions, will throw the over boost code, causing limp, interestingly netting stock hp levels, in limp, with the stage 1's.

I just installed a set in my truck last weekend with no tuning, and it really woke the truck up much better than I had anticipated. When my wallet recouperates from this purchase, I'll invest in an S-06 and see what happens.
