Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) BD Diesel VP 44?

VP bit the dust this weekend and I have searched, but was unable to find alot of info on BD Diesel's VP 44. I have found a deal on a new one, but would like some feedback on them. Reliable? Performance? Etc.

Midwest fuel injection has good deals on vp44's. Good quality also.

I have looked at those, but I can get a BD pump through one of my automotive suppliers at work for $840. 00
