I have a 2005 Dodge 3500 5.9 Cummins with a Bad Dawg exhaust brake..the break is working at idle but for some reason it won't work when rolling. for some reason it is affecting the cruise control and the cruise control won't work. I unplugged the wires leading to the cruise control from the FDIV and the cruise control begin to work but I'm still having problems with the exhaust brake when rolling. Could I have a bad FDIV? Thanks

From what I remember when I installed by BD brake you do tap into the cruise control. If I were you call BD they will help you troubleshoot this .

Praire Dog . I read through it again and it disables the cruise control if the brake is on . Hey Chad ask them why they disable the cruise control? thanks

That would be a problem for me, I like to use the EB and cruise at the same time. The trucks ECM works with both of them seamlessly.
After ten years of using it that way I can't see where it's a bad thing.

Thanks for popping in on this thread Hector. Guess I tapped into the wrong wires on mine as the cruise still works . I tested it today. I understand what you mean about fighting one another.

The cruise has always been disabled when the brake is activated otherwise they will fight each other. as for the brake not coming on check the pink with of the DFIV if it does not have 12V when the brake is active and the throttle is at zero fuel, it could be the DFIV of the TPS is not reading zero fuel to activate the DFIV.

I wouldn't say they've always disabled the cruise - I know of no other EB brand that does so. Besides, they cant both come on at the same time if that's what they're worried about.
The trucks ECM puts out a low signal to the relay that controls the EB only when the throttle is at 0%. Once the CC pushes the throttle above 1% the EB shuts off.

They do work nicely together though. Like when you ascend a hill and then start to accelerate beyond the CC set point coming down the other side. The EB kicks in as needed to slow the truck. It all works seamlessly - at least on my truck.
