So I bought a 2015 with a BD 68rfe, having issues they said they’d warranty it but only parts and it’s going to be 3-4 weeks, would you guys with bd experience suggest waiting or trash anyway?

So far I was happy with their parts and customer service. I think I'd give them a chance to make it right.
It's hard anyway to find a reputable shop nowadays that also has time to take in a truck within a short time. Most have wait line longer then the distance to the moon.

With all the reading I did in the past couple years I would lean to buy a factory reman as I trust them the most to really do a decent job. That only falls flat if the Trans has to work behind a tuned engine.

Since it didn't last more than 60k that pretty much says it all there. Even a stock transmission will last better than that unless the engine has some power upgrades and it has been thrashed on.

BD's solution to the VB cross leaks is not great and if they do not very carefully check the SSV valve and fix it, it just a failure waiting to happen. Same with the rest of the updates, do not do them and it a waste of time and money.

Short answer, I would look elsewhere for a builder and give them the parts to do it right.

REVMAX 2024 AND BEYOND!

Trash it !! Got mine drove 1.5 weeks transmission slipped into 4th 5th gear ratio after waiting two months which is normal but then i had wait 3.5 months for warrenty to process. Mechanic said they found metal bits all inside the pan like something came loose. They never told me what was wrong with it and slapped it back together. So im 6months out with no truck this was my only truck for buisness bd showed no sympathy during the process. Refuse to put it back in my truck better left in a scrap yard. From my research noone has made it of 60k miles with one of there 68rfe's. Hope this helps

I ended up going with a local transmission shop just to avoid that exact issue. They got it in the next day and had it ready in 3days. So far I’m 5k miles in and it’s great.

Please let me know what you ended up going with. Might just get a reman to be on the cheap side but revmax by far is the best after research.

<snicker> Looks like Jasper has a better rep than BD on these transmissions. My son has 2 of them in their fleet, 2014 and 2017, with a Jasper and unknown mileage but they still work. He adds a PPE pan and reusable gasket, cuz they always seem to have pan leaks, as preventative to start. If they show ANY signs of weird fill indexes or codes they get a Revmax Zero Flex VB immediately. Rebuilds get all the good parts to the tune of $4500. So far it is totally hit or miss on mileage, some go 280-300k before a rebuild is necessary. Several have not made 80k and they toasted the trans. Trucks are used hard by multiple drivers that really can be dumber than a box of rocks at times. Some units are just pointedly weird in how they react to rebuilds, the only consistent thing he has found is a Revmax Zero flex VB fixes all of the weird codes and OD issues.
