I have a BD based transmission in my 94 that has never held the pulling torque of my 12v when I had all the performance parts on it. The transmission tech that took apart my BD transmission, (after BD dropped the ball but that's another story), showed me many reasons this one would not hold and also told me he does not believe there is one that will hold this kind of torque in a heavy pulling application for a long period of time. They may last in a truck that doesn't pull hard or if you manually shift down on hills and such but none that you can just put in drive and set the cruise.
The truck was putting out 270 to 280 RWHP and I pull 17500 lbs GCW.
I am wondering if anyone does build one that will hold, for a price that is within reach?
