I think the one good thing about the BD twin kit is that it does come with an exhaust! But like I would buy it just because it is a complete kit. I wonder how many people would buy it for just the reason it is 100% complete?

Are you saying it comes with a complete exhaust or just a downpipe? The PDR kit comes with a beautiful 5" down pipe and adjustable mount for the trans support. Just curious.

I read in a magazine that they had their twins advertized in and it said it came with a complete exhaust. I cant remember where I saw the add.

But for the price it had better!

... ..... and there-in lies the problem. It doesn't. Downpipe only. They do give you a nice $2 clamp to clamp it to your existing system though. :-laf

I believe the mis-read was that it comes with the ATS exhaust manifold.

i think you can still get bd twins from kyle at extemediesel for around 3k. i went with the single for starters. what i like, is that you can buy the smaller turbo initially and build up to twins once/if you desire.

mark, are you telling me that the s300 spool up will not put a smile on my face? -- i haven't installed yet.

Thanks for all the input. Right now I am holding out for the PDR setup... waiting to hear back from Harry. If that doesn't work I may go with the BD's, or one of the other recommendations. Need to do a little more research. I hear the next hot setup is going to be the Holset VG Turbo. I was told that is what Banks is using in their Sidewinder truck. Will just have to wait and seel

ak ram,

your pipe alignment is off. unsat. did you talk to bd? their alignment doesn't look as bad (their photos in advertisements)

I just threw it together real quick to check fit. The housings are not quite rotated correctly in that pic. I adjusted them some more after that pic and they align perfectly. Quite happy with that aspect.

Another side note... I was talking with John this morning, the guy that put these twins together at BD, to express some of my concerns and dislikes, and he said they are currently working on a new intercooler system that is showing huge gains with twins. It is a dual intercooler setup. He was saying that one of the reasons they didn't go bigger with their twins was the huge drop in air density they were seeing due to compression heat created by the intercooler bottleneck when they went above 55lbs of boost. He said if they took the stock cooler out of the equation, big surprises happened. Since the stock intercooler hampered the 3rd Gens after a certain boost level, they said they concentrated on obtaining maximum air density at that boost level so the most benefit would be obtained without having to replace more parts on the truck. He went on to say that the gains observed with an extremely free-flowing, low restriction intercooler were so great that they decided to pursue it. They are now in testing, but they will offer a super low restriction dual intercooler system later this year. To go along with this new intercooler system will be an upgrade to their twins (wouldn't elaborate) to take advantage of the increased flow capability.

Just sounds like more money to me, on top of an already overpriced set.

Speaking of accomplishments, hey Mark how the triples working.

I dunno LAst I heard it still needed some transmission work. The DTT that was in it was hurting before it came to me. Because of that I couldn't set the wastegates before it left. :)

The S300 won't spool like your HY-9 does. I don't think I would like it. I don't like the HX35-12 that's on my '00 auto w/twins. I prefer the HY-9 (on twins) at my power level (350-400).

Sorry, I would not give BD house room. Go to a reputable AMERICAN company like Piers to get your stuff. Least you will have some recourse if things don't work out.....
