Bed rail protector ?

I'd like to get some aluminum diamond tread protectors for the sides of the bed and tailgate when my '04 comes in. I'm looking for a quality product naturally, and was just wondering if all brands are about the same, or if there were one or two that you found stood out from the others. Does Mopar make any, if so, are they any good?



Also, I've heard that you're supposed to put a strip of something between the bed and the bottom of the protector to protect the paint. Anyone ever do this?

I went with dee zee,that was the only brand I could get at the time. so far so good. I got the full tailgate also so make sure you get the wrap around or full diamond if you get the tailgate piece.completes the look. and I did put foam between the two.

Dodge also has them, but I can't speak to the quality of them.

I too went with the DeeZee rail caps and tailgate protector. I love the setup. The rail caps had a double sided foam adhesive tape that I removed and pop riveted them directly to the bedrails. No salt around here and I don't intend to remove them. Good luck.

I ordered the bedrail/tail gate protectors from the dealer. They are as good as any I have seen and under warranty too =)

Thanks for the replies, I think I'll go the Dee Zee route with the full tailgate protector. I also plan on getting the bed sprayed with a Rhino Liner, those really work nicely and also keep your stuff (including doggies) from sliding around too much.

I've got the Mopar ones... like them, but the side rails are totally flat, the don't curve over the sides at all, so it's pretty easy to scuff the paint, you can them in my readers rigs

I put the DeeZee stainless rail caps on mine. Good quality product, wraps over the sides just enough. They even survived the UPS gorilla!
