I think that it largely depends upon your intended use. I think that Rhino and Linex are both excellent products, but due to my main use of toting a slide-in camper, a Rhino with its tacky finish was the best choice.

P. S. Gore would argue that having a name at the top would also draw the most votes as well. :D

I agree it depends on the what you do with the truck. I have had both the rhino and the line-x and I will say that the rhino lining seemed more rubber like and had a greater tendency to peel out and gouge. The Linex is rock hard and is much harder to chip or peel.

bedliner

As someone has stated before, the quality of installation has a lot more to do with the overall satisfaction with the bedliner than the actual company making the applied material or the equipment used to apply it

There are some differences in hardness and tear resistance

but I would pay more attention to the people involved.

I have had two trucks lined thru the Dodge dealer in Billings, (excellent Dealer in all respects) The first was good quality, the second one was done very poorly!!! Both are Toroliner

I did a lot of research when I was buying a bedliner franchise for our use in our business. I ended up with Armathane and was very happy with it.

Line-X

Line-X is awesome. I've seen the RHino lining, it's OK, depends on what you want to use it for, like what was previously said the line-x is rock hard solid, the rhino is kind of rubbery and pliable.

I've got a Line-X liner. Its been very durable and is not slippery like the drop-in liner I had in a previous truck. I'm very happy with it. I also agree that the installer makes a big difference, I've had several people look at my liner and comment how much better it was done than theirs. I have an over the rail job, and the masking lines are straight and very crisp. A-1 quality.

Line-X of San Jose

If any of you folks are close to San Jose, CA... ... ...

I can highly recommend the guys at Line-X of San Jose. They did a really nice job on my truck. It took the better part of a day to do. Looks like they prep it right and the finnished product looks great.

I debated over the different liners on the market, but settled on the Line-X based on its properties and warrenty.

Hope this helps!

Line-X vs Rhino

This topic is pretty subjective, but here is my 2 cts...

I looked at both Rhino and Line-X... When I went to the Line-X dealership he gave me two reasons why he thought Line-X was a better product. .

1. It is HOT sprayed and cures in about five minutes. This means less chance of saging (if the Rhino is not sprayed correctly) and a more even coat. Also you can use the bed right away.

2. The Line-X material is a lot tougher then the Rhino product... To demonstrate this the dealer took some Rhino coated material and scraped it back and forth on a piece of materia with Line-X. The Line-X sanded down the piece of Rhino.

Have had the Line-X for over a year and it shows no wear. Its very tough stuff.

Bottom line... get what you like... they are both good products. ;)

...the quest for the holy grail in bed liners

I have Line-X on my Ram... in two places... in the bed, custom color matched to my black Sport Ram :D:D, as well as applied to my Air Bulldog induction components (with a bright yellow paint top coat). That said, I had Rhino Liner sprayed into my last 4x (custom colored charcoal gray). Both coatings are very high quality however, if I was to do it all over again I would go with Rhino... between the two. Actually, I will probably go with Toro Liner on my next truck if they're still around... a fellow NW BOMBer has the Toro Liner in his Ram and has experienced absolutely no fading or chalking like Rhino and Line-X do. Although I asked him about the specific process and material used, he wasn't able to answer my questions. It appears the material is similar to the Rhino material and I believe it is also sprayed on cold. The nice thing about the Toro Liner is that cargo doesn't slide around on it like it does on the Line-X.

..... choose wisely

Turbo Liner

I had Turbo Liner installed in my new truck as it was more convienent to have done than either Line-X or Rhino. I spoke to the owner of the company and he was knowledgeable and his biggest selling points were that it won't fade like the others and it's much tougher than either of the other two. I've only had it a short time but will say that it looks awesome and doesn't scratch or ding at all. I'll keep you posted as time goes by. Turbo Liner

I have the Rhino Liner, i love it, still looks brand new after 18 k miles and a nasty salt filled winter. Would definatley use them again.

Bed liner:confused: What's that?

My bed is 3/16" diamond plate steel:D a bit of black Rustoleum spray paint now and then to cover the scratches and it's good as new:D

Line-X Awsome applicator in El Paso

I recently had Line-X applied at our local dealer "WesTex Line-X" in El Paso, TX. The product was applied to my bed in about 3hrs. and looked better than other liners that are applied locally. The best thing was that it only cost me $417. 38 including tax to have my 3500 long bed done "over the rails". I called many dealers around the southwest and found that this applicator was between 50-75 dollars less than the other locations. My choice of line-X over the other products was made by the life time guaranty and the overall ruggedness and appearance of the finished job. I had seen many rhino linings that were peeling up from damaged spots and being a bit vain, I was totally impressed with the finish of line-X. I had a drop-in liner in my truck and was totally shocked when I removed it to have a fifthwheel hitch installed. The paint was wore down to the bare metal in many spots of the bed,( I was glad that I didn't live in a climate that required salt to be used on the roadways!) After seeing that, I knew my old drop-in was "not" going to be reinstalled. The owner said that he would give me a 50. 00 dollar trade in allowance if I wanted to give him the old liner. I decided that I would try to sell it to a friend for 75. 00 and make a little on the deal. Why would anyone put a drop-in liner in their truck. Heck, you are better off just using your bed without one and then spraying in a liner when you think that the bed is beat to #@*&. :p :p :p :D

P. S. You can contact WesTex Line-X at: (915) 591-9120. It may be worth the drive.

Got, Line X Friday, showed up to pick it up and they had not sprayed the area under the bed rail very well. It looked shinny in that area for a couple inches down the side panels, so they had to reshoot the whole thing, while I had a couple ESB's and a Philly at the Brew and Sub out on Hyway 99 in front of the Line X dealer. Looks good now. Snow King
