Heyyyyyyyyy..........

What happened to the house in the background? ;)

Nice tire BOMB :)

What brand tire did you upgrade too?

Tell me more and how are the bars holding up?

Looks nice!! Please tell me more about your configuration to support those big bad boys! You must have done some lifting??

Who's tires and where did you get them?

How are your Fabritechs holding up? My paint is peeling all over with surface rust getting a firm grip on the metal. None to happy here. The ironic part is that the brackets are still perfect.

The big tires are Denman Coyote LT305/85R16. They are only a 6 ply, load range C. Not a real strong towing & hauling tire. They are really meant for a wider wheel than the stock Dodge, but mine have worked well with about 30K miles now. About 36" tall and 9" wide. The last I knew, Nation Tire & wheel was the exclusive distributor. You can't beat the price.

More info on the tires: http://www.natltire.com/ntw0799/pages/mudders.html Scroll to the bottom.

Since I started bombing the truck, I felt the 36" tires with a 3. 54 rear axle ratio was hurting acceleration. Also, each tire/wheel combo weighs in at 94 lbs!.

At Carl's GP swap meet, a guy was selling 4 factory tires mounted on Dodge chrome wheels, off of a '99 . 4000 miles on them. I grabbed them.

Not too much of a difference in acceleration. I thought it would be like night & day. Probably with the low end torque of the Cummins, taller tires really don't faze it. The brakes work better though! They don't have to pull down 200 extra lbs of unsprung weight.

I only have a front end leveling kit on the truck. The tires have never rubbed. The rears have plenty of room. The fronts come close to the plastic fender well liner on a 3/4 turn, but won't hit.

We tried the tires on a friends bone stock '99 4X4. We had to take the Dodge moulded mud flaps off the front, the tires will hit them. Drove for 15 miles. Tires only rubbed once pulling into the driveway , hitting a small bump at a 3/4 turn. There is a mile of room between any sheetmetal, its the plastic fender well liner that the tire will rub. Nothing else. Picture here: http://albums.photopoint.com/j/View?u=1403958&a=10491725&p=37273212

EMD,

The traction bars are easy to install. They really tighten up the truck. I wish I still had them. I have the Roadmaster Active Suspension on now. Not as good as the Fabritech Traction bars.

David,

After my front mounts broke, Eric sent me out some stronger & revised ones. Problem was the mounting bolt holes didn't line up with my previous drilled holes. NO WAY was I going to drill 8 MORE 7/16" holes in my frame. Eric said to draw a template of my bolt holes, send it to him and he would make me a new set of front mounts that would line up. The new set was close, but didn't line up either. I supposed I could have elongated the holes, but didn't have the incentive. I ended up selling them. :(
