What is the best type of exhaust brake, inline or direct to turbo mount? What are the advantages/disadvantages of the two? Thanks,

Robert

As I understand, the best location is at the bottom of the downpipe on the level. That's where the pressures coming out of the turbo 'even' out and also where there's space to mount the e-brake. Very good option. It's a slam dunk with a stick, but the auto's need a lock-up converter for the e-brake to really be effective. Without the lock-up the converter will just stall out and the truck will continue to pick up speed.

The auto guys can mount a "Fiberglass Bed Cover" backwards so the cover opens forward and acts as an air brake. Spring loaded to activate and a rope w/pully through the cargo lamp hole to retract.

I've been kicking this idea around for a while to. I have my HY from my 01 and a banks brake sitting on a shelf. Has anyone mounted this setup on a 1st Gen?
