2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Better Brakes and Rotors?? 99 vs 01

Hi,



I have a 99 Diesel and a 01 gas 2500 and noticed the brakes were different, which design is better the 99 single piston caliper or the 01 dual piston caliper



also does anyone know if the rotors can be swapped?



99 is attached to the wheel hub



01 is a slip fit and will come off with the caliper removed



or would I have to swap out the whole knuckle/wheel bearings to do this?
