Has anyone tried the new rugged terrians, they are almost a hybrid between the rugged trails and the all terrians.

I have all terrians now but need to try to get a little more mileage out of the next set (this set might make it to 40k)

Thoughts?

Post some picks! If they are the same rugged trails that I had, I got almost 70,000 out of mine!:D Much better tire than the Goodyear's I have now. #@$%! My bad, rugged trail and rugged terrain are diffierent tires but still BF's are good tires!!!

Haven't tried them yet but the more closed/ interconnected the tread is the longer they'll last.

The new ones seem to have a less of a block style tread so they should last longer.

I use Cooper Discoverer H/T's and average around 80k miles before replacing.

I put 10,000 miles on a set and liked them better than the Rugged Trails. Can't comment on how they compare to the All Terrains, but they were wearing well and performed good on the highway, gravel roads and while towing (towed with them for approximately 8,000 of those miles).

The Rugged Trails that came on my 06 made it well into the 30's, and would have lasted longer if I didn't trash one beyond repair. The Pirellis I had next didn't last worth beans and the Big O's that are on now won't make it much past 30, if they make it that far. I'll be interested in some reviews of these BFG's. They look like a good mix of road and light off road.

update

I installed a set of 285/70R17E Rugged Terrians on the truck about 6,000 miles ago. So far very pleased with them. I dont think they handle as good as the all terriansbut but that may be my driving style. They ride and handle much better than the rugged trails that came on the truck. They seem to be wearing very well and I think i am seeing a slight increase in fuel mileage. I would recommend them for highway, i have yet to have them off road. they do handle trailer towing well
