These guys will make you a custom prefilter for the BHAF. They have "regular" and "water resistant" versions. The water resistant version helps address the concern that some have expressed about "what if" this filter gets wet, and either version can be expected to extend the life of the BHAF or MHAF by keeping bugs and other stuff out of the pleats. The prefilter can also be washed at least a few times and used again. I was told the prefilter would filter to about 5 microns, but don't know if this was a true "nominal" rating or just a salesman giving me a number because I wanted a number.
If you call to place an order, have the filter diameter and length handy.
The MHAF is what some are calling the Fleetguard AH-1141. It looks almost exactly like the BHAF, but is 8. 5" diameter vs. 10. 5" diameter, and like the BHAF fits the existing air box hose without any special adapters. Like BHAF, there is a "marine" version that adds an internal cage, but at a price, if you want greater assurance that a wet filter element can't collapse. The MHAF gives you quite a bit more more room around the filter for clearance between the filter and other stuff, thus leaving more room for fabricating shields, etc. It has quite a bit more area than the stock filter, but less than BHAF. It's also a bit cheaper than the BHAF.

on my BHAF from the Cummins dealer. Should be here this Friday!!! I would like ot order one of these prefilters... . Do you mind me asking what yours cost? How long did you have to wait? One more question. What size do I need to ask them to make me for the BHAF? 10. 5" diameter by what????
