Here it is guys (and gal's)
Yesterday I installed the BHAF (Napa option
) and removed the Silencer ring on the turbo.
Observations:
THIS THING ROCKS!!!! I can't believe what a difference that this filter option has made.
- I've noticed that the truck runs SOOOO much harder when boosting from a dead stop.
- I'm boosting about 1-3psi more than before.
- Previously when boosting, the turbo would peak and then fall about 15psi or so. Now, the turbo would remain at about 36psi.
:--)
- I do not have any EGT Numbers to post, sorry...
Notes:
When removing the air box, I pulled the rubber "boots" out of the air box and turned them over. I used the plastic nuts to secure the rubber boots.
Misc. Questions:
- Currently I've got the Air Filter secured directly to the end of the rubber hose, I remember somebody saying that they used some PVC or something... Anybody remember???
- I've seen the alum. bracket that was designed and sold for about $50 but the maker ended up hurting his back and now the brackets are not available. Does anybody have the diagrams for this bracket? I'm in a position that I may be able to make this bracket. I've got a line on Aluminum CHEAP! My only real problem is I'm getting ready to move very soon and will or may not be able to make them for long.
If anybody has any information about this bracket. Please let me know!
Thanks,
Corey
