Just considering CFM flow rate
I have the RE-0880 and pre, 25-0880 on for 18K and a Jannetty heat shield.
K&N tech says the RE flows ~1375 cfm, and take off 10% for the pre, altho they say it's probably more like ~ 2-4%. ( I have the actual cfm they gave me, but not with me now... . it was definetly 1350 or more)
Fleetguard tech says the BHAF flows 918cfm. Obviously, for those who have been running the stock air box, the 918cfm has got to be a big improvement.
I have no concerns over egt's, turbo whine, don't tow, and drive hwy only... no dust concerns. My pre shows a little darkness after 18K and when I peel it back and look at the RE, it looks brand new. No oil samples, but I don't think I'm sucking dirt into my engine. Spotless turbo blades.
So, for my needs and desire for higher air intake for maybe more power, I think the RE is a better choice. Please understand, I'm not knocking the BHAF, I just think there are some TDR members like me who are looking for other points of view, and I'm not interested in stirring up the frankly tiresome debates on whether the K&N filters are good or bad. If the BHAF claimed more cfm than K&N or any other filter, I'd buy it.
If I'm missing something, please comment.
