Finding TDR was the second best thing after finding a good deal on a D/C truck.

In my ignorance I bought one that was ALREADY bit by the KDP and sold to me by my local Dodge dealer in the unrepaired condition. I'm the idiot that didn't buy the warranty. Only after owning it a month or so, did it leak enough oil past the pressure-washed engine to signal something was wrong.

It was cracked at the top of the case, and I quickly learned what caused it.

I finally could afford to fix it and local member Joe Donnelly was kind enough to meet me a few times and come out of retirement to fix it for me for a good deal. He also answered many other questions and is a nice guy.

So, now I have confidence in my truck again. The KDP was still inside the case, too, a time bomb for greater damage down the road.

He also adjusted my timing and inspected my fuel plate to find that I already had a #6. Now I know. And I know what else to keep on eye on in the future, too. And where to keep spending my money!

I would also like to thank Joe D. His articles are always very helpful and informative. He also steps in on the forums and lends his expert advice whenever it is needed. His experience and wealth of knowledge and his sharing nature are much appreciated. I really appreciate the TDR.

Thanks

Joe D is a great asset to the TDR and is a very nice guy too.

Thanks Joe

Ditto. And I now have the privledge of living by him. Its awesome. Ive even gotten the privlidge to work on "Sickly Jr. " a few times as well.

Ive seen some pretty knowledgeable cummins guys, but Joe is amazing. Torque specs, type of bolt to use, part numbers, tolerances, etc right off the top of his head.

Thanks again Joe. .

Good job Joe! Mac is one fo the few citizens that is truely deserving of any good break that comes his way.

Mac, where was the dowel pin sitting? Was it riding up on top of the Cam gear?

He said it fell on the floor before he saw exactly where it was sitting. But it was pretty chewed up and definitely in there somewhere.

In addition to the crack on the top of the case, which I had JB welded (which DID stop the leak up there), it was also cracked there along the back, waiting for my fuel pump to fall off, I guess.
