Was just talking to family from Laramie. Folks sent me these from the cabin off 230 in Medicine Bow. If you are familiar with the WyColo Lodge, they are near it as the crow flies.

The Snowy Range - aptly named!
When you top Woods Creek Canyon and before the turn to Fox Park, there is the Chimney Park Scout Camp on the south side of the road. It's an old CCC camp and has a really nice old log lodge. When I was a kid, we would do winter campouts there. Lots of fun playing in the snow and trying to stay warm!

I know exactly where that is. We used to camp all over the place up there, although it was generally in the warmer weather!
We'd pack up our sleeping bags, hatchets, break down rods, and a pot to cook over the fire with and head out. Eat what you catch. Some times we went hungry but I don't remember ever being too bothered by that. Nothing like crawling in your bag and staring up at the stars to take your mind off small matters

That's horrible. The poor soul in the car at the 5:15 mark in the video never stood a chance amongst all that heavy iron.

I 80 has ALWAYS been a tough road for the unwary

What I can't understand is how you end up with 100 vehicles in a pile up. That stretch does not have hills to speak of to obscure your vision. You should be able to see the wreck a mile or more ahead of time and start to slow/stop.

By looking at the video, the visibility was really poor.

I can remember fog so thick in Commiefornia on I 5 & 101 to find an off ramp to park on the On ramp side (SO IF I WAS HIT IT MIGHT BE SLOWER) was a challenge they have 200 to 300 hundred car pileups.
