Hello, I am a new TDR member and I have had my Cummins for almost 2 weeks now. I love the truck and bought it specfically for the Cummins. Anyhow I need your help on a few questions.....
2001 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 reg cab Patriot Blue auto transmission (EVERY option except heated leather seats which ya can't get in the reg cab)
I ordered 4. 10 gear ratio knowing I was going up in tire size soon after. I have absolutely nuthing to pull I just love the truck... .
1)What is the biggest tire you can run with the stock suspension?
2)Lifting the truck- how high can you lift the suspension before requiring new driveshafts etc. (I am thinking 4" isn't too extreme? Will 4" clear 35" tires?)
3)Any recommendations on tires - currently eyeballing the 35" Superswamper SSR
Any and ALL comments are welcome.

KatDiesel,
I ran 33/12. 50-16. 5 Dunlop Mud Rovers on my 95 2500 4x4. They fit without rubbing no matter how hard I drove it and believe me, I drove it hard. I imagine a four inch lift on top of what you have already will clear 35's. I'm considering a lift myself. I have 245/70-19. 5 on my 1 ton now and I want to move up to 285/70-19. 5. Those are almost 37" tall. The tire is a good one. Just remeber, they don't get good mileage life, probably around 15,000. For me that's only three months.

KatDiesel,
I have '00 2500 4WD running 315/75R16's on the factory aluminum wheels. The tires are ~34. 5" tall & rub the control arms before full steering lock. I haven't had any problems with the tires hitting the fenders - but I don't drive the truck hard off road.

The tires are Pathfinder ATR's from America's Tire. KelleySpringfield makes the tire for them. They've got a 60,000 mile treadwear warranty. So far I'm pretty happy with them.

33's will fit stock. With a 2" lift 35's with a little rubbing. I have a 5and a half inch suspension lift with no driveline mods. The rear suspension is a 3" add-a-leaf. With the body lift, I clear 38's no problem! I pull the 38's easily, still take off in 2nd. Going by the gear charts, my final drive ratio is about the same as a 3. 54 truck with 33's. Raise the hell out of it, the Cummins makes short work of it! Besides, PSD guys either ignore me, or shake thier heads like big Rams are impossible, or unbelievable!

I run Denman Coyote LT305/85/R16`s 36" tall & 9. 1" wide. Have a 2" leveling kit in front. They haven`t rubbed yet. They are really designed for an 8" wide wheel. With the OE steel 16x6. 5, they tend to drift & wander.
