Bike Racks

Hey Folks:



I'm planning a long trip in my new short-bed CTD and I want to bring two mountain bikes with me. I don't currently have a cap, but I'm planning to buy one. I'd like to have the bikes covered as I'll be gone for a long time (1 year) and basically living out of the truck and an Airstream trailer.



Any suggestions on bike racks and mounting techniques? Here are my key concerns:



1. Security: I want to lock the bikes up, even under the truck cap. I haven't really inspected the bed, but I presume this means welding in some bolts, a loop, or bar or something.



2. Space: I'd like to pack these bikes as efficiently as possible. I need to preserve bed space.



3. Anything else you guys thing I should be concerned about!

I use one of these mounted to my tool box. Very simple, inexepnsive, and stable.
