Attention: TDR Forum Junkies I'm working on a 2000, 3500, with 5. 9L cummins. The tappet cover seal failed, I'm replacing it with a new billet tappet cover. I've got the new billet cover installed but in the process of putting things back together I've run into a major issue. The VP44 pump bracket will not fit, thus not allowing the pump to install correctly. The pump bracket runs into the now thicker, billet tappet cover. I've tried cutting down the backet as close as possilbe. Problem is now the pump bracket still runs directly into the tappet cover and to cut any more off the bracket I'll lose the right hand bolt hole for the pump bracket.
I'm sure someone has installed one of these on a 2000 before, please let me know what the trick is. Do we need to cut the tappet cover down?? Is there a special pump bracket I need??? Please advise. THanks.
