Olympic Pin in Honor of the September 11 Victims

Jennings has been leading an assault on the country and the presidency since the morning of September 11. Doing his best to perpetuate his myth that America is weak an unable to react decisively to this terrorist act. Jenning's has led a non-stop assault on the presidency and government -- constantly claiming the President was running scared and unwilling to address the issues. When in fact the system was working as it should and protecting the President and this nations leadership assets.

Show your disgust for ABC.

I noticed that and was not impressed at all. He has no idea of what is done when the President is in danger. Very strange. Those who saw him that I know of were left with the same impression you have. What do you do? Who is his boss? The only thing they care about is ratings. Until his ratings hit the floor, nothing will change. I doubt any radio people were acting that way December 7th 1941. Its "our" own fault. People like him with his attitude are in the places they are because half the people could care less, and the ones that do care wont get off the couch to turn the station.

What about that idiot Dan Rather......

He has the gaul to announce the president this way

"He's not everybody's president but here is the president"

What a jerk. Just further proof that the left leaning media will use any forum they can to attack the current presidency.

My personal opinion is all this could have been avoided if Clinton could have been more decisive in dealing with these terrorists from the get go.

Just my little vent, Thanks

Don't forget, Petey is a "Froggie", eh?

I suspect they had Frank Reynolds killed years ago to get Petey the job. What a Jaggoff.

Clinton should be brought up on treason charges. We will never know what all he has done to screw us, but we are getting an example here.

good point

i had forgotten about that mgm!!

i've been sticking pretty much with MSNBC. so far, by far the best coverage IMVHO.

except maybe that ashleighe banfield. she's a sensationalistic

B****.

Freedom shows itself in odd places

Just for the record:

I support the president, we need to in a time of crisis. The 2nd guessing can happen after the cleanup.

I support the secret service for wisking the head of government and others away from harms way. That is the job of the Secret Service, exactly what we pay them for.

If doomed passengers can use a cell phone to reach their loved ones in the final moments on the 11th, don't you think AirForce one can too? Does anyone really think the President was out of touch on that flying whitehouse? Sure we like to 'see' the President but come on, AirForce one probably has newer communication devices than the White House.

==============

SO, what is the point of this posting?

==============

WE are still a free society and all our military exist to defend that freedom. Unfortunatly the stuff from Peter and others even worse whom we may not personally agree with are protected under our blanket of freedom.

I won't be watching Peter because I disagree with him, however the fact that he can say all that stuff about our president without being sent off to some dark hole under the term 'treason' is a true demonstration of the freedom this country stands for.

Ironic isn't it.

What all these liberals fail to mention is that G. W. Bush got more votes in the last election than Clinton ever got. He was elected and not selected as they like to say...

I heard this morning on a local Austin radio station that recruiting offices here were overwhelmed yesterday with young men wanting to enlist. They just couldn't handle them all. Gave me a kind of warm, fuzzy feeling. I would have thought those days and feelings were gone forever.

It's not an issue of freedom allowing those morons on the primary networks to say what they want. The issue is they are liars.

During the Klinton years whenever there was a crisis; Klinton and Warren Christopher murdering all those special forces for example (they wouldn't allow them the weapons to defend themselves); those same talking heads are on the airways saying "politics stops at the shoreline" -- referring to the unstated rule that international crisis are not the time to be doing political nitpicking.

The WTC was still falling and burning and those same scumbags were joining with the terrorists in trying to tear down the country. They should be damned for it.

they will be mark

on the judgement day we will all have to stand tall before the great tribunal in whose judgement there is no error and from whose sentence there is no appeal.

all of us, good souls, terrorists and scumbag newspeople alike.

this country needs this return to patriotism and faith in the HOLY FATHER above.

sorry about being up on a soapbox guys, but we all need to vent just a little

Call or write every one of their sponsors and tell them you will not buy their products as long as they continue to support quislings like jennings/brokaw/rather.

There is a site I believe called ratherbiased.com that is actively trying to defund Dan "What's the frequency Kenneth?" Rather by coordinated letter writing campaigns to his sponsors. There is evidence that it has the concern of both See-BS!, its sponsors, and even Rather.

As much as I would like to see all of them gone tomarrow, we probably will be forced to knock them down one at a time.

Ramboy,

The great number of enlistees also reassures me. I am 22 years old and a student of that Liberal institution many call the University. Attending this place generally makes me sick at my stomach, but the last two days have united the entire campus.

I also intend to enlist of anything materializes... one thing this generation is missing is the opportunity to serve the country, not just enjoy its honey.

I am just glad we have the line up we have now making the final decisions. Bush (both JR & SR in a way) Cheny, Powell, Rice etc. Theres no doubt these people would be helping if the other guy would have won the election, but the real leaders would not have the final say, the other guy would... . havent heard anything from his people?? Good. We are in the best hands. Some of the greatest leaders of our generation are in power right now.

FOX is reporting a stewardess has been found with her hands tied behind her back. Going back to the news... . and not Dick Jennings news.

Mark,

You are correct in that they are liars. What is worse is that they command a following simply due to the BS they spread. It is a horrid circle the outcome of which is simply to continue to pull us all down as a country.

Most of us recognize the rag magazines that are at the supermarket checkout line as being full of it. Unfortunatly many in this country don't realize how similiar folks like Peter are to those rag mags.

Having agreed with you, there still is very little to stop it and and as others have said as long as the sponsors like the ratings it will continue.

So how do we as a country change 'freedom of speach' to 'freedom to tell the truth'... ?? We really can't

Until then it is unfortunatly still 'freedom of speach'. . Both for folks like Peter and those who want to sponsor a website to shut him or others down...

I don't think it's right to politicize this tragedy. I was encouraged during Bush's campaign when he pledged to take a stronger stance against Middle East based terrorism. He obviously had knowledge (possibly from daddy) that our intelligence community needed some beefing up. It should have not taken him 9 months to begin correcting the deficiencies. Instead he is playing politics, spending time and resources on such things as immigration amnesty.

Lhotka,

We can all be assured that some of the freedoms we now enjoy will be eroded by people like Schummer, H. Clinton, Gephardt, etc. so they can protect us from this sort of tragedy again. The Dems will all play politics.

This might explain why and what Bush did

ESSAY

Inside the Bunker

WASHINGTON

At 9:03 a. m. Tuesday, as Vice President Dick Cheney was staring at the TV

screen, the second hijacked airliner exploded against the Twin Towers. At

that moment his Secret Service detail grabbed him and hurried him down to

"PEOC. "

The President's Emergency Operations Center is an underground facility

hardened to withstand blast overpressure from a nuclear detonation. On the

way to the tubular structure, Cheney was told that another plane, or a

helicopter loaded with explosives, was headed for the White House.

Cheney promptly called the president in Florida, who had just boarded Air

Force One, and urged him not to come back to Washington immediately.

In the PEOC, the vice president was joined by Condoleezza Rice, the

national security adviser, and Transportation Secretary Norman Mineta,

among others. They were told that six commercial aircraft were unaccounted

for, all of which were potential missiles. One had supposedly crashed in

Kentucky (not true), and another in Pennsylvania (that report of a crash

was valid; its passengers or crew, apparently struggling with the

hijackers, may have saved the White House).

According to a high White House official speaking to me on background, the

airliner that had taken off at Dulles — AA Flight 77 — "did a 360" (meaning

it changed direction from the White House) and at 9:45 slammed into the

Pentagon.

About that time, accounts began coming into PEOC that four international

flights were headed toward Washington over the Atlantic and another from

Korea. It could not be immediately determined that they were not hostile

and part of the terrorist scheme. U. S. fighter aircraft and an Awacs

control aircraft were scrambled aloft.

A threatening message received by the Secret Service was relayed to the

agents with the president that "Air Force One is next. " According to the

high official, American code words were used showing a knowledge of

procedures that made the threat credible.

(I have a second, on-the-record source about that: Karl Rove, the

president's senior adviser, tells me: "When the president said `I don't

want some tinhorn terrorists keeping me out of Washington,' the Secret

Service informed him that the threat contained language that was evidence

that the terrorists had knowledge of his procedures and whereabouts. In

light of the specific and credible threat, it was decided to get airborne

with a fighter escort. ")

After the president put down at an Air Force base in Louisiana and made a

tape for broadcast (presumably no satellite was available for a live feed),

he was, in Rove's term, "pretty antsy" about not being at the center of

command.

Bush made clear to Cheney, says my source who was in the bunker, his

intense desire to return to Washington immediately. The Secret Service

objected strongly. The vice president, a former secretary of defense,

suggested Air Force One go to Offutt Air Force Base in Nebraska,

headquarters of the Strategic Air Command, with a communications facility

where the president could convene the National Security Council.

"It would have been irresponsible of him to come back, pounding his chest,"

says my source, "when hostile aircraft may have been headed our way. Any

suggestion that he should have done so is ludicrous. "

Confession: I made just that suggestion in yesterday's column, which

stimulated two set-it-straight calls. Why didn't the V. P. make an

appearance during that long afternoon in Bush's stead? The official reason

is that Cheney was busy in the basement; the real reason, I think, is that

he was unduly concerned it would appear presumptuous.

The most worrisome aspect of these revelations has to do with the

credibility of the "Air Force One is next" message. It is described clearly

as a threat, not a friendly warning — but if so, why would the terrorists

send the message? More to the point, how did they get the code-word

information and transponder know-how that established their mala fides?

That knowledge of code words and presidential whereabouts and possession of

secret procedures indicates that the terrorists may have a mole in the

White House — that, or informants in the Secret Service, F. B. I. , F. A. A. or

C. I. A. If so, the first thing our war on terror needs is an Angleton-type

counterspy.

Would you consider increased security measures, airport searches, or Sky Marshals on airliners an erosion of freedom? Many people would see this as more government control of their lives. How else do you address terrorist threats? If these security measures occur they will have been implemented by the Bush Administration. I don't differentiate between Republican or Democrat. I think it is sick for any person to use this tragedy as a means of political gain.

Political gain is different than criticism.

You wrote:

No, I would not, but for the most part the first part of your question is kinda cloudy. Asking if increased security measures would be acceptable is too broad for me.

Increased how? With What?

Out of line.

If the truth be known both partys have had their share of screwups. At this time we don't need to be pointing fingers and accusing the media of biased. They have always been full of sensationalists and always will be. We all should know this as fact.

It is real easy to place blame, not so easy to give praise.

We all should gather at this time and quit the childish name calling. Bush is our president and we should support him. PERIOD. Liberal or conservative,we are in the same game.
