fuel filter pic.....unknown miles and 110 gallons of BioDiesel

Hey Blair... post a picture of that new roof you built to cover the refinery!

If I ever add onto my house again, I am enlisting you, Dave and Russ!

Hey Dave, Blair is so busy concocting exotic fuel blends that he doesn't have time to snap a picture. I however, had the time to drop by this afternoon and took this picture of his new roof. You wouldn't know it by looking that we were able to finish it in only one day! Are we good or what?

My fellow TDR forum buddies

Diesel fuel in Kremmling, CO just hit $2. 85 per gallon. Please hurry up and get this process down and them give us detailed instructions on how to make this bio-diesel fuel. I'd pay a fair price for the exact info on how to make this cheaper fuel.

I'm a fair and patient man, but the cost of diesel is getting to me.

Take care

Byron

BioDiesel

This might be of interest to you Blair and Cliff:Homebrewing Biodiesel Workshop

Saturday, August 27, 10am - 4pm

Oakland, $20-$40 sliding scale

Class size: 15 people

See a homebrewing site in action at my house in North

Oakland/Emeryville! You’ll learn the whole process

from testing the veggie oil, brewing the biodiesel,

washing it, filtering it, and putting it in your

vehicle. Bring a delicious dish to share for a potluck

lunch.

Priority is given to those who have a diesel vehicle

and a site to homebrew (please put this in your rsvp

email). We’ll schedule a processor & washtank

building workshop after this one for people who want

to build one.

Taught by Jennifer Radtke of the BioFuel Oasis and

Berkeley Biodiesel Co-op with assistant Alan Pryor of

the Berkeley Biodiesel Co-op and Alameda Co-op.

Please rsvp to jenniferradtke@... and I'll send

you directions and more details.

;)

Thanks for the info Greg, I already checked into it but I am not sure how much I can learn from this class. It might be a good thing to network a bit though.

That is a good one Dave, again THANKS so much for your help. I have already seen some benifit from the sun not beating down on my head while bioing (new word) during the day and it rained once too.

Thanks to all that helped Russ, Dave, Dave and Cliffman.

LOL!! :-laf

Thats why I want you guys building my next addition!!

I am wondering if there is a shelf life on the oil you get? Does it matter how long it sets before you use it? I have access to some 330 gallon plastic tanks that I could use just for the storage of the oil, until I make up a "still" something like that one you have. Any comments / ideas on shelf life, both before its made and after ?

I'm not sure exactly but I have used some that was more than 2 years old with no problem. I think the big thing is to make sure there is no water in it.

Bio update: The trucks are still running but this is allot of work so if you don't have some spare time on your hands you might want to just go to the gas station. I am getting the process down now but there always seems to be something to tinker with.

I loaded the tank with 42 gallons and will be headed out after work for a trip to Oregon wish me luck. This will be my third tank, I will remove the fuel filter and give it a look when I get back.

Bpine-

good luck, when your done will you be posting more pics and instuctions :) ?

Check out my second post there is a site there that is alot of help. From there you will find many ways to build that explain it much better than I can.

I just got back from a 900 mile trip and the truck ran great.

Did you pull the filter? What did it look like?

What MPGs did you get on your trip? Are you willing to give demos of your gear? A buddy and I have been seriously thinking of building one of these and I'd love to pick your brain.

I haven't pulled the filter yet but made the 900 mile round trip with no problems. I will pull the filter after the next tank.

No problem Sandy I would be happy to show you the system. Shoot me a PM and I will give you my #.

Bio processor

Not to hijack you post bpine but, I thought that I would post some of my pics of the processor that I have been using and selling kits of for the last 2 yrs. If anyone has any questions. Just drop me a line I am happy to chat about bio anytime.

Dieseltim

No problem Tim, that is exactly what I am building next. I think it is very helpful to have the cone bottom. I wish I didn't rush into building my tank and would have spent the time to build a cone bottom.
