Sorry my answer was in the wrong thread, was addressed to the "Truck making oil" which is a brand new vehicle with sooted tailpipe

There still shouldn't be soot.

This past week, I wiped the inside of both of my tail pipes (dual exhaust) on my EcoD, and my finger came out clean after driving 500+ miles.

I’ve done that off , and on since I bought the truck , and heard about how clean they run , and it has always been clean , up until recently.

I would like to know too about the SCR being damaged running it with a malfunctioning DPF.

They are different systems, but the Ford trucks have the SCR ahead of the DPF.

I had a lot of crystalization build-up on the def injector due to a broken gasket in there. I should check it again next oil change.
Also, I didn't know you could double tap the start button to override the grid heater. Good to know.

Kinda goes right along with that recall on only the 2015 actuators , that made a lot of sense , wonder what made that the only year ? My 2014 went out a bit over 60k .

Reminds me of the first Takata airbag actuator recalls where they only wanted to replace those in vehicles registered in southern states...
