Going to be installing one of these on Sons 04

ANY ADVICE??

Looks like the one I got at Geno's. Spliced in battery warmers as well. Didn't use the bracket. Installed it directly to my Buckstop bumper. I'm assuming you have a flip up cover? Works great.

I very good product from Geno's. I have had one on my 2008 since the summer of 2009, it is starting to rust a little, I do live in the rust belt.
I routed the wiring up and out of the way it is tie wrapped to components on the frame and engine leaving slack so, not to stress the plug or wiring. I believe I also had to remove the oil filter in order to access the block connection. It has been a while since I did this.
My younger son installed one on his 2013 truck too.

My Son & I installed his Block Heater yesterday, how much if any temp gain shows up on the Temp Gauge after being plugged-in overnight?

Depending on ambient temps and wind, but I generally see somewhere around 40 -50 degrees above ambient temps. A winter front helps hold the heat in better - which I don't have on this year. A strong cold wind will keep temps lower too.

The temp gauge won't register the heat, but the grid heater will only light momentarily vs. 10-15 secs or so, telling you it is indeed working.

The install went pretty easy as thought it would be with the wife getting her tiny hands in the task, we didn't have to remove anything. Its been working fine except for when it rained one day and my Son plugged it in at work then it got cold. He said that he left a drip loop like I told him to so rain water wouldn't run into the connection. I think that the cord from the power source to the truck socket was wet before he plugged it in and it froze. I was wondering about using Dielectric Grease on the plug to prevent this from occurring again.

I pack the PMA charging system almost full of the stuff and it doesn't hurt the charging of my batteries on the Motor Home or the dump trailer????

I believe the heating element is already in the block (at least on my 2008 and my younger sons 2013.5 truck). All you need to do is purchase the electrical cord which can be purchased from Geno's Garage, see page 7 of Catalog 105 Summer, 2019. This plugs into the heating element which has a cover over the male plugs. This should be on the passenger side of the block behind the oil filter (this is where mine is).
