According to my 5 star dodge dealer, all of us who have a bottle secured to the end of our blow by tube are crazy. One day last week I noticed a very heavy smell of diesel coming from my truck. Well looking around I couldn't locate a big stream or even a small one, even after climbing into the engine. It smelled like it was coming from the back of the engine and also under the truck there was a misting pattern on the transmission (left side) and a lot of other parts, but it wasn't flowing out. Well while a friend of mine and I were under there I decided to put a oils sample bottle on the end of the tube since I had one handy and to also see if the diesel was coming out of the tube. Filled a quarter of the bottle up in a day and a half of city driving, but I noticed that the diesel (not oil) was coming down the out side of the tube, NOT THE INSIDE!! So I traced the leak to a little from the area of the # 6 injector. Well I took it into Dodge and personally wrote on the service ticket to check the # 6 injector and steel tubing. They called and said I had this "after market part" on my blow by tube, but didn't find a leak and my truck was ready. I asked the service manger if he thoought it was odd that the bottle was by now 1/2 full of diesel and he said thats normal. Well I going to get my truck now and I guess I get a face to face explanition. I have 72K miles on the truck and have NEVER smelled diesel, in this amount, but what do I know!! Even if diesel was coming form the INSIDE of the tube, (1/2 a BOTTLE IN 2 DAYS) and it's not, I don't think that would be normal or am I crazy??.
