Performance Diesel's 4th Annual Dyno Day

Cool! Need directions to Shawsville. We can do Jim's place in the spring. The decals should arrive Thursday. I'll bring paper towels and Windex; the decals should be good for 20 HP. :D

I finally got a reply from James. Here it is:

Oh no! The company party is on the 16th. Can we do it another day?

The shop is on the 4 lane across from the Celanese factory, next to their credit union. 127 Clendennon Rd. Narrows Va. 24124 There is all kinds of trucks and equip. along 460 for sale.

The owner is Dean Davis he excited to have it at his place, but the 16th won't work. Affordable trucks # is 540-921-1515. I don't usually get there from my main job till 6:30. Please pass this on to the post page.

I found it on my way to W. Va. on Monday. It is real easy to get to... . but for now, on to Shawsville!!

A ha I finally found the page My # is 419-574-1848. I wish I could be there. I don't want to miss the big company christmas bonous. I work at Southland Log Homes In Elliston during the day . It's just down the street from Shawsville. A spring shindig when things start to warm up would be good for the next one. I am sure that every one would like the facilitys at Affordable. Three bathrooms to chose from and a shower. Also 10000psi powerwasher/steamcleaner. A lift!we could get to the botom of things.

Well, darn. I'll bring my camera and put lots of pics up on my website (murent. us), as I've done for many dieselhead events in the past.

For those of you who have trouble fitting these pig-outs into your schedules, email or PM your 'typical' schedule and/or lead times to one of us. That'll help us plan the next GTG better.

Lessee, what work does my truck need... . Oh, yeah. Check the axle vents for pluggage; this might explain why the rear seals were leaking on the run from here to IN, TX, MN, IN and back, and when I had to haul my brother's minivan back from I-70/I-81. Check the track bar. Check the suspension bushings for undue motion. Fix the fuel tank sender and a leak on top somewhere. Replace the itty bitty bulb in the EGT/boost gauge; damn things barely last 100K miles these days. ... Hmmm, maybe not. I thought I had a spare, but it seems I don't; I might have to use the LED one I built until the replacement arrives from Geno's. And since most of the work involves getting dirty, I'll just consume beverages, burn tobacco and tell lies I mean tales. :)

12/16 Barbecue

9 diesels and 16 dieselheads. The weather was perfect, location was perfectly remote but he didn't show us the still - in that part of VA, *everyone* has a still hidden in the woods, right? :), the hosts (OL Ratlr and his gracious wife) were great, food was delicious and plentiful, and the cook should be fired.

My few pics are at http://murent.us/dslhead/BRTDB-12-2006

We must do this more often!

It was a very good time indeed! Thanks Norm & Shirley for allowing us to clutter up your driveway for the afternoon. Next time we'll have to have an auction for a ride on "The Green Meanie!" (see pictures above)

We're going to try for another event in early March. If weather holds like it has, then it won't be a factor. From the 3 get togethers we've had, it seems that the best idea is to just pick a date and see who shows up. I doubt that we will ever get one where everyone can attend.

As to the wrench day in Pearisburg, I will contact the owner about what would be required from us to hold it. Whether or not that is the next event is not certain. It would be nice if he has a dyno there. I'll bet that would be a big draw for folks that might not otherwise attend.

As always, ANY of you can suggest a place to meet. We have folks from all over, and Roanoke is central to most. But if you can find a place with enough parking, we can figure out what to do. Thanks to everyone that showed up... . even Nelson! (the ford guy) :-laf :-laf

I had a great time, it was nice to meet all of you guys. Thanks Norm, and Shirley for hosting the cookout. Hey tug, Nelson wanted me to send you a picture of his FURD, you might not want to get behind him on the way to or from an event! :-laf :-laf

You guys will have to give him a hard time though, we went shopping yesterday and after we left the mall he did a little "smoke show" for our younger family members (at 42 psi) when we were just out of sight and the head gasket on the pass side let go... ... ..... whoosh... ..... putt..... putt... . putt... ..... putt and then we were hauled home by an 06 dodge dually. :D
