How about on 3/10 we have an excursion; we meet at Phil's place in Floyd on 3/10, perhaps late morning, then convoy:

to Tinsley Rd,

to Poor Mountain Rd,

to W. River Rd,

to US460,

to VA609 (Boners Run Rd),

to Boone Rd,

to Hurst Rd,

to Yates Rd,

to VA637 (Allegheny Spring Rd),

to Willis Hollow Rd,

to Norm's place

unless there's a connection between Boone Rd and Willis Hollow, in which case we get to Norm's place from the high end. We then fire up the grill, cook up some chow, eat, drink, gripe about what Poor Mountain broke, be merry, and plan on going the next weekend. Check it out on Google Earth.



Poor Mountain Rd would present a slight challenge getting over the hill. I rode it on my motorbike, so I know 4x4 trucks can make it easy enough; I think 2WD could make it easily as well.



Then on 3/17 (Patrick's Day), we meet at Affordable Truck and Equipment near Pearisburg to fix what we broke the week before.
