Well, thanks to Erik Stacey (BLACKDOG) for showing me the light, and advising me on a body-lift, I finally installed it. This BOMB is definatly worth the time/effort, although you fellas without a dump-bed feature would have a much easier time with the installation, .

Anyone considering a body-lift, I highly recommend it. The appearance of it is just an added benefit. The real features are the ease of valve cover (ideal for the regular injector swap) and/or head removal, bell housing/transmission access, and the much needed addition of a front receiver hitch, (thanks to Steve St. Laurent for the hitch).

A huge thanks goes out to Greg (LSfarm), for the use of his shop, his help, and putting up with the rather large mess I made in the process.

Here are some after install pics.....

You were right, that thing does ROCK!

Very impressive, especially knowing that you have a dump bed AND stacks... very cool indeed.

Oooooops,

Ok, apparently there is a new P/A fourm, (I wasn't aware of it, and posted in the wrong fourm) and the image codes are off, therefore no pics, I did talk to Steve, when he gets home he will move this thread to the correct P/A fourm, sorry.

Awesome rob did you use the PA body lift if so what size 3" ? do you have any suspension lift as well ? how about the intercooler lines what did with them ? I heard that is the hardest part of the body lift with the Cummins. I am seriously considering a body lift. Sweet looking rig man !!!

Rob your truck looks awesome!!! I got a 2" leveling kit and a rear-add-a-leaf on my truck, but I want more lift. The ONLY thing holding me back is I like the height of my shifter stick. Did yours go down alot? Do you have pics of where the shifter is now? Body lifts keep all your angles good and they look dang good on our trucks. How much was yours and I guess it came w/ all the bumper brackets, right?

Okay Rob, how long did it take to do this? That looks sweet, I know body lifts were cheaper but I too never even thought of it because I thought the intercooler lines would pose too big of a problem. Great job, and great looking truck! My Dad just came back from a neighboring island, my uncle has a 2001, 2500 6 speed, he has the same dump bed as you, man I gotta get one it's so cool!

Hey Rob, every time I see a picture of your truck you have the bed up. Show-off:p ;) :D I too like it, can you PM me the details of the lift? Thanks.

Sorry for the delay, Thanks for the compliments!!

BBD,

Yes, it is a PA 3" body-lift, I just have the 2" skyjacker coils, and stock rear suspension. I had to shorten the intake tube about 1 1/2" (via-sawsall :D ), and rotate the lower boot on the intercooler on the passengerside.

Cumminfast,

The shifter was lower, but after some fancy cutting/welding it's just right now. I dont have a pic yet, but I'll get one. The kit was like $170 I think, I can't even remember where I got it, (it's been sittin' in my garage for a couple months). It came with the front bumper brackets, the rear is optional, (which I didn't need anyway). Your right, I need an AFE filter, I'll have one shortly.

Kalaehina,

It only took a couple hours to do the front (cab and front clip), including the bumper. The rear on the other hand, took quite a bit longer, thanks to the dump bed. I had to redo the entire lift, brackets, pivot points, rollpan relocation, hitch relocation, and exhaust extention. On a typical bed, it should only take about an hour.

Chipstein,

If the above didn't answer your questions, just let me know. The batteries are in the spare tire location, mounted in a cradle via tire winch (with a safety of course).

One more thing, I have electric fans, if you have the stock fan, you'll need to modify the shroud.

Mark,

The antena is mounted on the toolbox (the CB install was after the body-lift pics were taken).
