I'm really enjoying using my PacBrake now that I got it unstuck. I haven't towed with it yet, but my favorite trick so far is to cruise around town in 3rd gear without having to hit the service brakes unless there is a red light.

When I had the Pac apart I saw the hole in the butterfly that prevents backpressure from getting too high, and I am wondering if there would be a way to put a 60psi valve in that hole to maximize low RPM pressure and braking. I don't have the old TDR mags in front of me, but I seem to recall an ad in one of the recent ones that compared a Pac to a different brand, and the other brand claimed that it was better at low RPM since it didn't have a hole. Well, how do they manage the high RPM pressure? I'll try to find the ad and report back to this thread, but no promises on actually finding it.

Anything you put in the brake will not last; the exhaust is just too nasty of an environment. The brakes that regulate backpressure are all done externally

The PRXB I have has that very thing integrated into the main butterfly valve. It is basically a spring loaded poppet type valve in that very same hole you are talking about.

Take a look at one, and I bet you could make your own.
