Stomp, on my first CTD, I bought the Borgeson shaft+ the rubber disk, after a year and a half, I still dont see the advantages of the $200 purchase. On my new 91 CTD, it of course has the loose joint at the gear box, I will not be buying the high dollar shaft, I will give the OEM joint replacement kit cheap a try. I'll say one thing, if your steering wheel doesn't lock, you're gonna have FUN removing the old shaft at the rubber disk-top-. I tore the two bolt retainers up, broke bolts, chewed up the rubber disk, because my steering wheel wouldnt lock at that time, I've since fixed it. I ordered from Dodge for $40, what they called a bolt kit, it came with the two bolt retainers, and 4 new bolts. But since my wheel wouldnt lock, I tore another one up, went to junk yard, found a Dodge pu with steering shaft removed and ah ha the bolt retainers or straps was just sitting there. So if you or someone's steering wheel doesnt lock, I'd suggest removing steering wheel, turn signal switch, bearing retainer, snap ring, and anything else in your way to get to the steering wheel lock spring, and you may find out as I did, it just wasnt engaging, but this is worth the time and effort, because if your wheel doesnt lock, the Borgeson shaft install becomes a 2 day weekend nightmare. Ok enuf. Bill
