My wife's car (98 Seville) came with a Bose system. The CD player quit so I thought I'd get a satellite ready, mp3 capable radio for it. I'm told, by the one place I stopped at, that the entire system including speakers has to be removed and replaced. Is there a Bose compatable replacement radio available? Any other options?

I can't see why you would have to replace the speakers. There probably is an amp involved somewhere. Is it a single seperate piece of a small amp attached to each speaker like my 98 Infinity system was? In my 98 CTD all I had to do was hook up the antenna power wire from the aftermarket head unit to the wire that powered the speaker amps. Worked great! What does Crutchfield say? If I recall, they told me I could not put an aftermarket headunit in my Infinity equiped truck when I first called in 98, but I think there story changed over time.

I talked to another guy, this time at Best Buy. He said the Bose speakers draw more power than most others and will burn up the amp in aftermarket radios.
