It'll be a week or two before I gather up gaskets and bolts, but I'll keep you guys posted on how it goes, initial quality impression etc.
Wish me luck.:)

Most likely a cheap off shore copy, low quality material and casting. Not what I would want to gamble on with a hot rodded 12 valve capable of some big egt swings

Looks OK.
It's boxed VERY well.
So far I'm still enthusiastic......:D

Oh, when the UPS guy handed me the box, there was a bit of a rattle. I looked at him, he said he was gentle. (I know him)
It comes with bolts. Socket head bolts! I may not use them, but it's a nice touch.

^^^^^ Ummm...... Yeah.... what he said.... ????

You ordered it for a '98, didn't you? And they didn't specify 12v or 24v?

I got a feeling when he reads that and looks at it, it's gonna be a little louder..... lots of beeping and throwing of wrenches :-laf

Well, if they won't take it back, PM me. Ship that one to me, and I'll have one drop shipped to you from TN, although I don't think it will be assembled.

I just looked up at the last photo at the blue marker writing on the box... look at the last 3 digits..... 12V.... someone didn't put that in the right box!!!

I saw that last night but didn't put two and two together, nice observation!! If they are ANY kind of seller at all they will pay return shipping on that thing and get the right one to him.

I have been a heavy user of Amazon lately because if something like happens (as long as it is NOT a third party seller) a couple of mouse clicks along with a short explanation gets the item on it's way back freight paid.

(edit) Along with an apology for your troubles......Amazon has an incredible business model from what I have experienced.

I've had mostly good experience from both Amazon and Fleabay. Amazon is great for name brand products, while the other is good for cheap overall. But their Buyer protection is pretty decent, especially if it's under $500. I've only been burned once on FleaBag, on a riflescope, which I got 80% of my money back, which was better than nothing.... Using Paypal to pay usually makes sure you'll get ALL your money back..... I don't fully trust ANY of them, though....

Just got off the phone with the seller. He mentioned a well known diesel shop that has installed these.
Said theyre made for the 12v and it wont be a problem. Offered to return.
I want to get some gaskets first and see how it matches up.
It aint over yet.:D

Well, good luck with that.... but when you get those gaskets, you let us know.... :D Just cause it bolts up, doesn't mean it's right..... Jus' sayin'....
