Clunking while hauling

A Must Have for 5er or TT!!

maybe someone could point me in the right direction. i repair lawn equipment onsite-it is a mobile service and i use a 20' US Cargo trailer that is converted into a mobile work shop inside. it stock lots of parts and many tools. the trailer is 4 yrs old and has about 50,000 miles on it. i need to replace it , it is just worn out.

what should i buy. who are the best box trailer makers. i want something with bigger tires and higher off the ground to get better clearance on hills and driveways. i use a regular ball hitch with 60" tongue and have no difficulty getting anywhere. i just want something make a little better and maybe looks a little nicer.

thanks for the help

4yrs, 50k and it's worn out already?

Boss' dad put about 350k hard miles on his last Keifer Built GN livestock trailer. Has about 175k on his current one.

My boss has a 14' Haulmark enclosed trailer. The back door is also a ramp. Seems like a nice trailer. May be a little light for what you are doing, though.

Charmac makes a nice cargo trailer, not fancy but well built. Uses all steel tube framing unlike most of the others who use Z bar. I would recommend taking a look at them. Also you can try converting a used horse trailer, they are built pretty tough. John

I like my Wells Cargo. Bought it after doing a lot of research. Mine is an EW1622 (7700 lbs GVWR), but you can also get a 24 series (10,000 GVWR) that has larger tires and axles. I custom ordered mine with zero drop axles for more clearance off-road. If you're useage is so severe that any cargo trailer isn't strong enough, you may want to consider other options.

You may consider some of the bigger trailer manf, go with a car hauler type like a featherlite (featherlight?) to get most weight carrying capacity and go with 1' min flooring

I agree with Eric_77, Featherlite will be the best you could buy, Not cheap. All aluminim construction, but built heavy. A friend put over 200,000 miles on his Featherlite snowmobile trailer before he sold it and it still goes down the road. Also get heavy enough axles for your load...

If you want all steel tubing construction instead of stampings like Wells Cargo and Haulmark check out the H & H flattop line. Rivet less sides, treated floors, fully undercoated including the wood and a flat diamond plate roof that you can walk on! Not the lightest but the toughest that I found in 6 months of studying trailers. If you want light weight, go Featherlight or Aluminum Trailer Company without question. I have lots of pictures of H & H's if you need more info or pm me. Like I said I have 6 months of research saved on my computer and would be glad to help if I can. I'm not affiliated with any of them and I have had my problems with a few of the manufactures so straight answers only.

p. s. There are a couple of pictures of my H & H in my albums...
