As A U. S. citizen, I feel almost powerless to do anything to show my distain and anger towards the French, and their backstabbing politics towards the U. S. This has gone on since we saved them from the Germans, twice. I feel the only way I can protest and hurt them in any way is to boycott any French made products. Since money is the only thing they hold dear to themselves. It sure isnt world peace.

Better think before you vote, some French companies - BF Goodrich, Motel 6, Michelin, Nissan, Uniroyal and Zig-Zag Rolling Papers. I don't buy any French products anyways, not going to start now.

I even quit French kissing.

squew zae freounch

I don`t and won`t buy french.

We get Sparklets water at work, I do drink it. Don`t buy it.

Ziz Zags, yes get hi and not fight. Yes the french.

Why don't we get them removed from NATO and the UN security council all together. That would solve the problem.

The real problem, I have been told, is $$$$. Evidently France does 3 Billion dollars worth of trade with Iraq.

Always follow the $$$ if you want to know the true motives.

I will buy French products, but ONLY BECAUSE I HAVE TO.

I work for Schlumberger

Our other vehicle is a Nissan Maxima (I swear I thought it was a Japanese car)

I have BFG AT/KO's on my truck

For the most part though, the rest I could definitely do without.

I've been avoiding French products for years. They have been working actively to harm our military and industrial capabilities for decades. Screw 'em.

do not use french products other than french fries... . are they realy french?

The company I work for is partly owned by a paris based company. The paris office biggest contract is in the US followed by the french goverment. My peers in paris tell me most people and corporations are not behind the goverment on this, knowing what it can and probaly will do to business.

I will not give up my french fires no matter what my doctor tells me to do or eat.

I saw this on irv2.com and thought I'd post it here. It's not French, but it's appropriate.

Saddam Hussein wa sitting in his office pondering the UN resolution when his telephone rang.

"Hello, Mr. Hussein!", a voice said, with a heavy brogue. "This is Paddy O'Toole down at the Harp Pub County Mayo, Ireland. I'm ringing to inform you that we are officially declaring war on you!"

"Well Paddy," Saddam replied, "This is indeed important news! How big is your army?" "Right now," said Paddy, after a moments calculation, "there's myself, my brother Sean, my next door neighbor Liam, and the entire dart team from the pub. That makes eight!'

Saddam paused, "I must tell you Paddy, that I have one million men in my army waiting to move on my command. "

"Sweet Jasus!", said Paddy. "I'll have to ring you back!"

Sure enough, the next day, Paddy called again. "Mr. Hussein, the war is still on! We've managed to acquire some infantry equipment!"

"And what equipment would that be, Paddy?" Saddam asked.

"Well, we have two combines, a bulldozer, and Murphy's farm tractor. "

Saddam sighed. "I must tell you, Paddy, that I have 16,000 tanks and 14,000 armored personnel carriers. Also, I've increased my army to one and a half million since we last spoke. "

"Saints preserve us!" said Paddy. "I'll have to get back with you. "

Sure enough, Paddy called again the next day. "Mr. Hussein, the war is still on!" We've managed to get ourselves airborne! We've modified Harrigan's Piper Cub with a couple of shotguns in the cockpit, and four of the lads from the Shamrock Pub have joined us as well!"

Saddam was silent for a minute, and then cleared his throat. "I must tell you, Paddy, that I have 10,000 bombers and 20,000 fighter planes.

My military complex is surrounded by laser-guided, surface-to-air missile sites. And, since we last spoke, I've increased my army to two million!"

"Jasus, Mary, and Joseph!" said Paddy, "I'll have to call you back. "

Sure enough, Paddy called the next day. "Top O' the Mornin', Mr. Hussein! I'm sorry to tell you that we've had to call off the war. "

"I'm sorry to hear that," said Saddam. "Why the sudden change of heart?"

"Well, said Paddy, "Meself and the lads had a long chat over a couple of pints, and we've decided there's no way in hell we can afford to feed two million prisoners. "

God Bless The Irish!

Another one to avoid!!

Sheesh!!

Just when I was getting pretty regular at avoiding "made in China" now I have to watch out for french crap;

Back when I was 22 yrs old and still knew everything (just got my BS degree --yea, that kind of bs may apply just as well, and starting to work on my JD--man I was hot stuff. On a good day I could find my way in out of the rain!!), I bought a french car, a 1958 Simca. What a piece of junk that was; it was just plain worn out by 24,000 miles!! Dumb!!

That should have told me all I needed to know about the french.

I'm on board!

Since the French sissies bought out BF Goodrich Who can I buy a 315/70/R17 tire from that looks cool, last a long time, and doesn't cost a zillion pesos a piece.

You can do what you feel is right, and I will do with what I feel is right. I will boycott as much French products, and French owned products as possible. Sorry if it hurts their profits, but there are enough people, such as yourself that will keep French products in demand. Freedom of speech, and my freedom to express myself in a lawful way, such as boycotting a ******* country like France, is a wonderful thing.

God Bless America

and ***** the fat Dixie Chick. I will boycott them too. I will also call the radio stations that play their stuff to tell them I will not listen to them as long as the Fat Dixie Chick is singing on their station.

Come on now, what's this "people such as yourself" stuff? I'm all for boycotting French products as part of showing them how we feel, it just pains me to see our fellow AMERICANS get injured by a boycott of anything and everything with the word "French" in it. And I feel that before one boycotts some particular product or manufacturer they need to be sure of their facts and not rely on what they may have been told. (I'm not pointing fingers at you or anyone else, just making a general statement. )

As an example, there were a number of emails floating around the last few months about boycotting specific gas stations because that oil company buys their oil from the middle east. Some said to boycott Shell and that Exxon/Mobile was a good guy. Others said to boycott Exxon/Mobile and that Shell was a good guy. Turns out it's all a mush and they pretty much all get oil from the same places. Anyone who believed the emails was deceived.

I'd say the fat Dixie Chick screwed herself and her group. She's (so far) sticking up for her opinion, and that's her choice, but she will definitely be feeling it in her pocketbook soon. Doesn't matter how much backpedaling she may do from here on, we know the truth and we won't forget.

I have to add one more point. The Germans are on the side of France and are against us. DiamlerChrysler is mostly German. It makes Dodge Rams. Any suggestions on how this should fit into the boycott?

The french products issue was discussed on Fox cable today. Some trade guru explained that it was hard to ID all french products for boycotting due to many things not carrying a visible french label. The point of hurting US workers by boycotting plants with french connections was also discussed. It was pointed out that one nice area to boycott and do financial damage was the tourist industry. This is a big cash cow for them and it would really get the message across directly within their country if people would stay away and let the "why" be known.

The Dixie Chicks' comment sounds almost familiar.

CF, I agree with your border concerns. I've been complaining to my elected D. C. members. Maybe there is not enough serious complaining taking place.
