Interesting they claim 100% longer service intervals compared to DOT3 and 50% longer service intervals compared to DOT4. Based on the service recommendations from various auto manufacturers that utilize 3 & 4 the opposite seems to be true.

You have to know that in Europe the service intervals for DOT-4 is 2 years.
Probably that's the view from Bosch.

DOT-3 is stoneage , I wouldn't put that old sauce in my lawnmower.

Correct, which would put DOT3 at 1 year intervals. Kinda hard to believe.

DOT4 does have a higher boiling point but the wet boiling point falls off much faster with age. Hence the short service interval requirements of DOT4. Every manufacture that I have seen publish a service interval for DOT3 is in the 4 year range give or take. It is less dependent on regular changes. If left un serviced tests have shown that DOT4's wet boiling point actually surpasses that of DOT3 (lower).

Dodge really cracks me up on this. The 2004 owners manual actually states:

Mopar® DOT 3 and SAE J1703 should be used. If DOT 3 brake fluid is not
available, then DOT 4 is acceptable. Use only recommended brake fluids.
The 2004 service manual repeats the sentiment. But, many of the brake fluids available now are dual certified, DOT 3/4. Only Dodge would prefer DOT 3 over DOT 4. Must be expecting you to leave it in for a long time!

DOT 3 absorbs less water than DOT 4, and if the system is sized correctly the higher boiling point shouldn’t be a factor. You are doing something wrong if you get DOT 3 close to it’s boiling point on these trucks.

I’ve never had any issues with DOT 3 and never noticed any difference after a change or felt any degradation, but I do change my fluid more than many I know. Along with PS fluid, brake fluid is one of the most neglected fluids in automobiles.
