I just delivered my truck via AAA flatbed to the dealership. In my warranty it states that brake pads and rotors are NOT covered. However, due to the caliper locking up while driving, the driver's rear pad and rotor are trashed. At 66,000 miles, I should have had at least another 75,000 miles out of the original pads and rotors on the rear.

Has anyone else had similar trouble and had the pads and rotors replaced under warranty by their dealer? The service writer said that they would not be covered even though it was caused by the failure of a covered component. :-{}

Of course to add insult to injury, the flatbed was a brand spankin new GM with a Duramax. :( Only 400 miles on it. At least he had a real diesel in back as a spare in case his died. :-laf

I was denied coverage on the rear brake shoes when a covered axle seal leaked on my 94, saturating the friction material... ... ... sounds like the policy has not changed.

For some reason the customer "service" gentleman I spoke to at DCX Customer Service didn't like it when I asked for the address to which I should submit my small claims paperwork. I was told that this is "public information" and that my lawyer and I could look it up on our own time. He then left me on hold for about 25 minutes...

They even refused to warranty my torn driver's door seal that has a TSB out on it.

Guess I should have saved my money and skipped the extended covereage. They did cover my leaking steering pump and the caliper.

My 99 had the front calipers freeze up and the first time the calipers were replaced with remans and the rotors were turned and new pads. It was not covered under warrenty then it stared to stick again and I just did the work my self and replaced the rotors, calipers, pads,and rear shoes with comercial grade. they told me it was caused by the corrosion, and lack of use. PA salts the roads and the humidity do not help at all so the new truck I try to drive as much as possible to my assignments around the country.

If I didn't have what I thought was a warranty I would have done it myself and the truck would have been back on the road in a day or less.
